I needed a solo getaway, and I love to spend time alone in the woods. This was the perfect rental for that: very secluded, literally surrounded by woods, quiet, and peaceful. I enjoyed exploring the woods, and you can go to nearby Daniel Boone National Forest for more hiking. This bunk house was completely secluded from any sign (or sound) of human life, other than the gravel road leading to it, yet it is a sturdy, comfortable indoor shelter, with water and electricity. There is a full bathroom, a double sink and counter, and a dorm refrigerator and microwave oven; outside, a nice (charcoal) grill, picnic table, and fire pit, and comfortable folding wooden chairs. Bed linens and pillows, paper towels and toilet paper, soap, dishes (plates and bowls, not cookware), and utensils are all provided. And the view: from your location on the side of a mountain (near the top of it, actually), through the trees you can see the splendor of another mountain; just beautiful! I will definitely plan to go again next year! There was one particularly tricky incline on the gravel road, but with a running start it was fine; it was helpful to have a 6-speed, but I imagine it would be okay with an automatic in a low gear.
We had a great weekend of hiking and leisure. The cabin was nice. Had everything you need for a great stay. Plenty of firewood and lots of privacy. The road is a little steep getting up and down, but my Honda Accord made it with no problems.
Cabin was very clean and well put together. Kids had a great time finding turtles in the woods and the views were beautiful. We would definitely stay again!
Great little cabin in the woods, nicely secluded from the frantic climbing scene in the area. It was everything we needed for a weekend stay, and nothing we didn't need. Thanks to our hosts for flexibility when travel issues threw us a curveball!
