We had so much fun on the Buffalo Trace Distillery Ghost Tour. There is no cost for the tour and you get samples of the bourbon and chocolate bourbon balls after the tour. Of course the gift shop is open and we purchased many wonderful souvenirs! The complex is beautiful and the tour guides were very knowledgeable and entertaining.

The Buffalo Trace Distillery is well worth the trip. The friendliness and warmth of the staff create a welcoming atmosphere, and the tour is enlightening.

We toured the distillery today and it was an awesome tour! Our tour guide, Freddie, is a third generation employee at the distillery. You could tell that he and the other employees that we encountered really enjoy working there. We learned a lot about the barrel use, storage methods and got to observe hand bottling of premium brands. Of course, we were treated to free samples at the end. However, it was more than just free samples. There was an explanation on the difference of the products available for sample and how to best enjoy them.

You can tell that Buffalo Trace takes their tours seriously and works hard to make them informative and enjoyable. The tour is free but given the amount of time and attention given to visitors you sure couldn't tell.

If you are visiting other distilleries along the Bourbon Trail, or just traveling through the area, this is a must see tour.

I've done several of the free tours over the years at Buffalo Trace, and haven't been disappointed yet. Their grounds are very pretty, and in the summer you can't help but catch the whiff of the "Angel's Share" as the breeze flows throw the rick houses. The tour guides are very knowledgeable, and I love how they do their tasting at the end. The last couple of times, they've pass around some white dog to play with (not drink - but play with; they lead you through an interesting learning experience I wouldn't want to spoil by detailing here!) This is followed with a tasting of Buffalo Trace and Eagle Rare 10 yr. These are both from the same mashbill, but the Eagle Rare is aged a bit longer and is a single barrel product (giving you an opportunity to taste how a little bit of age can influence the flavor). I would give them 5 stars (or circles?) except that their free tour doesn't show you any of the working distillery (although during the week you may see the bottling operation). They do have a "hard hat" tour which goes behind the scenes, but you have to schedule that in advance.

During the Kentucky Derby weekend so it was very busy but we all had a great time! Amazing it has been around for so long and still going strong. Passionate and proud of their production. Would never dream that I liked bourbon but loved 2 of the tastings...the 12 year old was smooth and wonderful and "Bourbon & Cream" is a delight. Brought back some of their Bourbon and chocolate candy and had to call and order 4 more boxes. Our guide was a great guy, friendly and funny. I really enjoyed this and so did our friends.
