While staying locally (passing through) we stumbled across The Greyhound for an evening meal on a Monday evening when lots of other pubs were not servicing food. We were attracted to The Greyhound due to the number of diners eating. Myself and 2 friends decided to give it a go. We were not disappointed.

When entering we were attracted to the warm friendly atmosphere of the place. We asked for a table for 3 and were shown to a table - the last one availabe inside, and a very helpful waitress came to take our drinks order and hand us menu's. There was a good selection of food avaialble, based on traditional English cuisine..

Two of us ordered the steak and ale suet pudding and the other person had fish and chips. The food soon arrived and we were impressed by the size of the portions. The steak and ale pudding had a delicious red wind jus which really set the dish apart. We both thoroughly enjoyed it. The fish and chips were also very good.

Because of the generous portion sizes we could not manage a dessert. The bill came to around £45 for drinks and 3 main courses. The price was reasonable and the food was of excellent quality. We will visit again if returning to the area.

We had a meal for six to celebrate a birthday at this pub and it was an excellent choice. The food was really good and environment ideal to chat to other people. We were surprised when some friends who live nearby arrived for their meal, apparently this restaurant is very popular with locals (which is a good recommendation in itself).

We are quite regular at the pub now and have seen that it has just become so very popular and I'm not at all surprised. The welcome you get when you arrive is second to non - Tara you are amazing.

We went here on Saturday night with a friend who was staying for the weekend. I ordered the lamb, my friend and my husband had the ribs - the pub was very busy, I could only see 1 free table in the area we were seated. The food came out faster than we thought it would to say they were so busy, you couldn't complain about the wait you had and the sight of the ribs made us gasp, they were huge....my friend was convinced that she wouldn't eat them all.
The meal was exceptionally well cooked, as always and full of flavour.
My friend managed all of her meal as she said they were the best ribs she had ever eaten.
Sadly we were all too full for deserts.

The atmosphere here is excellent and the staff are helpful and professional.

This pub is an absolute MUST for anyone in the area, but you will need to book as they are so busy, don't leave it to chance you'll be disappointed.

Tara and Danny - thanks again for a fabulous evening, see you soon.

Had dinner here on Friday evening. All 3 courses were delicious and the staff were very helpful and friendly. Would definitely recommend this eatery again and it won’t be long before we are back to try other dishes on the menu.
