We have stayed at Venus Bay many times and always enjoy this place. The caravan park has cabins, and parking for mobile homes, caravans and tent sites.
The cabins are all air conditioned, fully furnished, linen, with kitchens and most having en suites. We stay in them and they are very comfortable suitable from 2 people to 6, refer to their website for costs etc.
The fishing is perfect, you can fish off shore, the jetty or hire a boat to fish in the bay. If you like King George Whiting this is the place, Linda and Chris Smith run the park and are so helpful all the time to help you find the fish. They run the shop and take away food and the park outlet, a small supermarket is up the street, and then there is the views from the beaches, cliffs and surrounding areas.
Located on the far west coast of South Australia 8 hours drive from Adelaide, but well worth a stay here, you can swim, boating, rest, walk, fish, meet the locals and stay in comfort at the caravan park for a very reasonable price. Its very popular so you will need to book. Very Family friendly great for kids and the dog is welcome too.
Want to know more give them a call.

Room tip: Go to website Venus Bay Caravan Pk South Australia (NOT Victoria) cabin info some on beach front, give them a ring to check availability.

Drove from Elliston and drove in and out of the coves etc on the way.

Caravan Pk booked out with big mobs of Victorian and NSW retirees here with their cruisers $100k caravans and roof toppers. They go out every day and smash the KGW. The bay is pretty benign place to boat.

We got a 2brm cabin (#4) which was clean & well appointed. Comfy bed, view of the sea and fish cleaning stations, complete with about 20 pelicans.

Like lots of similar places (like Coral Bay WA) The water is salty bore water so getting a lather in the shower is a bit hard. But if that's your biggest trouble in life, you have issues. The cabins kitchen sink are plumbed to rain water. The caravan park / van guys have to get theirs from a tank - limited to 2 litres a go. So if you have a van fill it to the brim before you get there.

Hired a boat from the park $60 for 3 hours. Which was very well priced for a self drive cruise of the bay, in warm glassy conditions. But only got 2 fish. Grumpy about that. (You need a boat license to hire). Failing that there was a huge amount of tommies around the jetty at night as well as a seal.

Linda who runs the place is great. As are her staff.

We stayed here for 4 nights over the Melbourne cup long weekend. The only way I can describe this park is tranquil! We did nothing.....forb4 days it was r&r. The occasional walk down to the beach or in to the shops for fish and chips. That was it, lots and lots of.....nothing! So if your wanting to go somewhere that has lots to do or shops and more shops this is probably not the place for you. But if your after a gentle breeze, the waves crashing at night (if the breeze is heading on your direction for sound travel), slow walks on the beach, maybe a bit of beach fishing, a can or 20 by the fire (when there is no fire ban in place) and lots and lots of rest then....book!

We stayed here for two nights. Such friendly hosts and great facilities. Rain water that you can drink, little takeaway in the shop last orders 6:45pm. Also another shop 2 mins walk up the road for larger choices.
Nice little beach for swimming and fishing, the cabin had good facilities, it was clean and had aircon and tv.
The toilets and showers were kept clean and all the other staff were very friendly !
Also very reasonably priced .
