I have a thing for German restaurants while we are vacationing - this is by far my favorite. Also, the staff- particularly Sarah - is very attentive and very nice to our small children.

It was really hard to pick something from the menu as it all sounded so good. I tried the sauerbraten and my husband the wiener schnitzel- the server was able to split a brat plate between the kids for us. The beer and wine selection of German items was fun to pick from and they have beautiful glassware too.

My only regret was that we ate so much dinner we did not leave any room for the amazing desserts. You pass the desserts on your way in, so try to plan accordingly.

This find was a real treat to excellent German food, beer and service!

Make a reservation or be prepared for disappointment. This is a family owned business with very limited dinner dining hours only.

Everything is prepared fresh daily and the recipes are authentic German family treasures. Walking in is almost like walking down a quaint German neighborhood street.

I began with a rich dark, delicious German beer, Kostriker.

A fresh, warm basket of fantastic bread was delivered to the table. WOW! A dark brown crunchy crust with a delightful soft and moist center.

Next came a great salad, the Gasthaus - Rucolla & Birney (Arugula & Pear). This was mixed with carmalized onions and blue cheese crumbles, tossed in a homemade Fig vinaigrette and finished with toasted walnuts.

There is so much great food to choose from so I went with the "Schlachreplatte" (Butchers Platter). It was a plate filled with Bratwurst, Bavarian Smoked Sausage, a huge Ham Hock, and a large, juicy center cut smoled Pork Chop! A fantastic sauerkraut and steam red potatoes were served as sides.

The desset selection is simply amazing and so, so good. Order right away, because when they run out, that's it.

This was a really great dining experience and we'll be back for many more fabulous meals!

Visited Gasthaus tonight with a German exchange student & the entire experience made him feel at home. He was so happy to have been able to speak German with everyone at the restaurant in an atmosphere that was authentic. Thank you so much, it was important for me as a mom for him to feel that way by the end of the night.

Have not been here to eat in a few years & decided we wanted some good German food. We had not though to make a reservation & we were lucky to get seated right away arriving around 6:15. Dinner has large portions & they served fresh bread before our meals arrived. Nice selection of wines & beers too.
I Like the colorful atmosphere & we had great service. As we walked in we passed the desserts & they all looked so good. We decided on the chocolate fallen soufflé & it was delicious.
