We were driving from florence to a wedding in Tuscany and it was lunchtime. We saw a small sign for this restaurant and despite the streets of this little town being absolutely deserted we stopped and ventured into this gem of a place. Luca, the owner greeted us with a warm smile and Italian charm. Even though we went famished we were enticed into trying several dishes, including a pasta made on the spot with mushrooms that and been delivered while we were having a drink and white truffle (the first of the season). It was delicious. Everything at the restaurant -including the festive atmosphere inside (it filled with patrons even at lunchtime) was delightful and such a surprise to find such foodie establishment in this unassuming little village. It was a memorable lunch.

My husband and I dined at this restaurant upon the recommendation of our host, William. The food was incredible - the best we have eaten in Italy. The service was also exceptional. Every wine recommended was a delight. If you can make it to this restaurant we would certainly recommend. We would like to go back!

We have visited this restaurant in the past two years and absolutely loved the food, ambiance, and staff. We had heard that ownership had changed this past year and were unsure what to expect when we returned this year. But, we were not disappointed! The ambiance was just as before, the food was superb, and the staff just as wonderful as in our previous visits. I decided to try something different this time and ordered the pork in pastry with mushrooms. It was heavenly. Perfectly seasoned, with a light, savory pastry crust that was amazing. Also, ordered fried potatoes to go with it and they were light and crispy and a perfect accompaniment to the pork. For dessert, we ordered the homemade biscotti with Vin Santo, which was heavenly. I left with the feeling of having eaten perhaps the most perfect meal ever! This restaurant is a must when visiting Tuscany. Also note that it is handicapped accessible, including the restrooms.

Luca goes out of his way to create some fantastic dishes with a presentation beyond reproach. Be prepared for layered dishes, with flavors that are to inviting, you'll want to eat extremely slooooow! His wine listing is also excellent, with vintages you would not expect and something to pair with everything on his seasonal menu. After eating here twice, it is now a lock for our yearly visits and was a true highlight of our recent trip. I would name off the items we had, but I'm sure he keeps the menu fresh and seasonal.
