“Loved the Executive Lounge and Town car service”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 18 March 2012

Flew to Baton Rouge for a wedding reception and stayed at the Hilton for one night.
Great choice as we arrived at 4 pm, too late for lunch, too early for the reception so we headed for the Executive Lounge and enjoyed cheese and crackers, fresh fruit, several hot appetizers and free drinks - perfect!
We didn't even need to take a taxi to and from the event as the gracious and lovely hotel staff offered to drive us in their town car, and gave us a phone number to call when we needed our ride back to the hotel - now that's southern hospitality!
The room faced the Mississippi river, loved the balcony that had chairs and a table. My room had all the amenities, very clean and comfortable.
I would definitely stay here again when next visiting Baton Rouge.

Room Tip: Rooms that face the river have a balcony!

I always stay here when I stay in Baton Rouge overnight. This hotel is centrally located, and there is at least one excellent restaurant within walking distance. The staff is very helpful and accomodating. My only gripe (and what keeps this hotel from an excellent rating) is that I had a document faxed to me at the hotel and the staff only gave me the cover sheet, not the actual document, and I wish that the rooms all had bathtubs.

Thank you for continuing to stay with our hotel, we are truly grateful!

I am very sorry that receiving faxes continues to be a problem. The hotel has several fax numbers, so sometimes that causes a problem, next time please ask for the fax to be sent to 225-906-5707 this will go directly to the front office.

I know double bedded rooms may not be what you are looking for but all of our double rooms have tubs. One charm of this old historic hotel is the configuration, to keep the hotel’s charm our king rooms all have showers, but like I mentioned our double rooms all have tubs.

Again thank you for continuing to stay with us and if there is ever anything we can do to make your stay more enjoyable please let us know!

All of the staff were friendly, efficient and helpful. We hopped right out in front of the hotel, the car was whisked away by the valet service (well worth the 16 dollars a day - parking in Baton Rouge can be a nuisance), and we were unloading our bags in our room in under five minutes. There was a doorman at the front, who, in addition to politely ushering us in, was very obviously keeping an eye on things, which made me feel safe. The hotel was within walking distance of everything we intended to go to on this trip.

There was a lovely little lounge to the left of the spacious entry area. We had the breakfast buffet at the restaurant on sight (the Kingfish), which was worth every bit of the 14 dollars we paid. There were omelets made to order, bacon, sausages, biscuits and gravy, fresh fruit, yogurt parfaits, and all manner of other goodies. I wasn't hungry until almost dinnertime after feasting there.

We had a riverview room, which I recommend if you can get it. The bed and pillows were divine! The bathroom was a little small, and didn't have a tub (I don't think any of the rooms with the king beds have tubs), but this didn't partucularly bother me. I would definitely stay here again.

My wife and I sent one night at this hotel while attending an event at the Baton Rouge River Center. The valet parking was fast and painless. The hotel allowed us to check in early (about 1:30 P.M.). The room was very clean, had the proper bedding, and was spacious enough for the two of us. We would have liked to have eaten our meals at the hotel but found the menu quite limited and off the chart in pricing. We chose to eat at one of the other restaurants in the general area. There are very few choices in this area. All in all we had a good visit.

Room Tip: Determine where you want to eat before arriving.

We booked an executive floor room and had access to lounge facilities - evening drinks and breakfast. There was a good selection of drinks not the usual lounge range. Even the wine was drinkable. Rooms were a good size and comfortable. All the staff we came into contact with were friendly and helpful. I would definitely recommend this hotel.
