We stopped in this wonderful local cafe run by a most Charming French woman, Jacqueline, for breakfast on the first day of the three-day visit to this area. As the sign on the wall says, if you can't wait 30 minutes for your meal, go to a fast food restaurant. This is anything but fast food but it sure is worth the wait! The owner / chef is a true original and her daughter Flo our waitress couldn't have been more fun., even sitting down and chatting with us in between getting our orders. This is the kind of place that makes you want to come back again and again. And we did! Next day we did both breakfast and lunch. For breakfast, one of us had the three egg Cajun omelette which was so generous it couldn't be finished. Another had the ' to to-die-for sweet potato pancakes. Indescribably delicious! Why we were enjoying this feast, we talked to Jacqueline and told her how much we enjoyed it and she said come back for lunch and took our order for what we wanted for lunch so that she could serve it to us as quickly as possible. The Crawfish bisque was the best I've ever tasted, the shrimp po boys were full of crispy fried shrimp wonderful fresh greens Mayo perfectly plain and simple and everything you could want in a pool boy. If only we could take this place back home with us we would. Can only hope that Madame Jacqueline stays there for a long time to come.

This is owned and run by a French lady and her family. They were very nice. We visited this restaurant as part of a Breaux Bridge food tour. We had French Deviled Eggs (which have crabmeat in them and are DELICIOUS!!) and fresh French bread. I'd definitely recommend it and definitely would love to go back and check out other items on their menu.

Owner operated, the waiter looked like the chef but never told us about CASH ONLY, when i wanted to pay she said only cash and thanks got we had the amount. Only because of that, it is bad service, food ok and over price!
Beside sooo dirty this place, they should inspect this restaurant, I bet it will be close

We ate here cause it was our only choice and it was open. So dirty, bathrooms dirty, good service and food was ok, we only ate here cause no other choices!
Wine served in a plastic cup, terrible!!!
Dessert ok, like boxed cakes though!
Only reason we ate here again, it was no other choice!!!
If they inspect this place they will probably close it.

Not much to look at from the outside and somewhat eclectic and nondescript inside, Chez Jacqueline offers a lovely dining experience. Delicious crab cakes, great bisque, and -- mon Dieu! -- fresh and tasty produce. Everything is hand-prepared by Jacqueline, so when busy it can be slow, and Chez Jacqueline doesn't accept credit cards. Attentive service. Would dine there again in a heartbeat.
