After having stayed at this previously nice new Hilton Garden Inn for busines during a 3 week trial over 10 years ago, and made numerous short stays during the remaining 12 years, we have watched this hotel fade from a jewel to a never renovated tired and worn out 13 year old mess.
Our recent stay left my wife and I dying to leave. Even a senior manager admitted the property had never been renovated once from the top down but only had several mattrass changes in that time and they were way down in their business.
We were told the food was still great for dinner so we ate dinner and my wife ended up waking up at 2 am sick and unable to sleep for 3 hours from her hamburger.
The furniture is worn ou, the tub is so slippery I was afraid to take a shower. The front desk manager admitted that numerous guests had filed similar complaints. The mattress on our bed had big potholes on my side of the bed, etc.
The housekeeper spoke virtually no English and kept leaving her cart blocking the middle of the hall.
Needless to say we left early to get home and take a full day to recover and feel better after an awful stay.
On checkout I told the Manager we would never stay here again until there was a full renovation of this Hilton.
We happen to be shareholders in Hilton and longtime Diamond Mermbers with about 1 million points.
This review is very accurate and not an attempt to harm Hilton but this owner needs a visit from Corporate real bad and a forced top down renovation.

The Hotel has in fact had more changes done then just mattresses with the last renovation happening in 2011. Just this year alone we have upgraded all the door locks, upgraded and added wireless access points, Boosted the internet speed that comes to the guest, replaced 18% of all the guest room air conditioners, and yes the last of the mattresses will be changed , plus a number of things the guest never sees in the back of house that helps to improve service and efficiency.. That's not to say that a full renovation is not being considered.

This hotel room was very clean, spacious and quiet. The bed was so comfortable! Blackout curtains were a nice treat! Air conditioner worked great. Hotel staff were very friendly: front desk and housekeeping staff.

If you are attending an event at Cajundome or Stadium, the Hilton Garden Inn would be an excellent choice. You'll need a car to get to any shopping such as pharmacy, food (they do have a good dining option on site).

Super nice hotel in a really nice location. The kids loved the indoor heated pool. Staff was friendly, rooms were comfy and clean and they have a really good breakfast. Highly recommend staying here while in Lafayette.

The hotel is very convenient to ULL, but our room was pretty dingy. The bathtub was wearing and needs updating and the bathroom corners hadn't been swept in quite a while. There were also pistachio seeds just under the bed and the floor lamp had to be unplugged to turn off. Just showing signs of wear and tear. Better choices not that far away.
