TREINEICE JACOBS at the front desk broke the law by calling 911 to report a BURGLARY IN PROGRESS saying that that these TWO COLLEGE KIDS FROM TEXAS TECH UNIVERSITY were "STEALING THE ROOM!" The Monroe Police Department, because of her language of BURGLARY IN PROGRESS came in drawing their guns and even hand-cuffing one naked after pulling him out of the shower....had them kneel on the floor with their heads on the bed going as far as to read them their Miranda Rights! All the while, that woman was jumping and screaming watching the whole thing go down much to her pleasure. Once Victor was able to convince the police officer to allow him to show him his phone, it was then they the officers saw the TWO NIGHT RESERVATION plus two payments....one from AMEX and one from Texas Community Bank! This is not over.....I have hired an attorney who is now dealing with Motel 6's Legal Department. YOU SHOULD BE FIRED AND ARRESTED FOR CALLING IN A FALSE REPORT! YOU AND YOU ALONE BROKE THE LAW!

Nasty in everyway from carpet to bathroom to even the pillow. The fridge is so loud you can't sleep. Your feet feel dirty walking on the carpet. Mold on the ceiling in the bathroom. Bring your own linens and cleaning supplies!

There are several reviews for the Motel 6 in Monroe, LA, and they are fairly accurate. In a word, if you're not up for an adventure, don't stay here.

The good: there are beds in the room so this is a place to crash for the night. There was no evidence of bedbugs. We were able to shower.

The bad: we found 6 cockroaches in the room we stayed in. They ranged in size from very small to medium size; this is indicative of an infestation. I'm hoping we don't take any with us.

None of this surprised me since the reviews I read before booking had all this info...we needed a cheap place to get a little rest on our road trip. Also, I'm not posting any photos since the ones I reviewed are indicative of our experience.

So if you can handle a cheap, dirty, sketchy hotel with roaches, this is the place for you.

Oh, and there are train tracks nearby as well...and the trains blow their whistles as they pass through early in the morning.

Rooms are NASTY! They smell horrible, carpets are stained, bathrooms are nasty and when I turned the bathroom light on at 4 a.m there were ROACHES in tub!!! Drawers were not cleaned out. There were bowls and fake fingernails in them. Guys were walking all around outside during the night. Will NEVER stay here again!

The clerk was friendly and nice. The room was in great shape/clean and in working order. However, I did see a dead creature on the floor in the bathroom. Overall was not a bad place to stay I will stay there again.

I made my reservation through AARP Travel. I specifically searched for a non-smoking room and with internet access. When we checked in the clerk said the only room she had was on the 2nd floor and asked would that all right. I said it would be fine. Upon entering the room, it reeked of cigarette smoke. I called the desk and she apologized and said that was the only room. We were tired and decided to tolerate it. We got settled in and tried to connect to internet but couldn't find internet. Once again, I called the desk and she said they had been having problems and were in the process of switching providers. She should have told me that upon check-in. Again we decided to tolerate it because we were tired and did not feel like searching for another hotel. Well, we should have found another hotel because the bathroom was filthy with some kind of black, sticky stuff on the tile and mold in the bath tub. The toilet would not fill back up once flushed. In general, the place was disgusting. Around 10 p.m. someone knocked on our door. My husband peeked out to see some guy standing there. He did not open the door because we were in a really bad neighborhood. The man eventually walked away. All in all, a horrible experience!

Room Tip: Stay away!

Went to Monroe to visit for wife's mothers 95 birthday. When we arrived after dark, no security lights, specifically asked for high-speed internet when we made reservation. There was no internet. Asked for non-smoking room, room reeked of stale cigarette smoke. Still trying to get the smell out of our clothes. Mold in the bathroom, toilet seat was unhinged and broken. People roaming out in the parking lot at all hours. Someone knocked on our door around 10pm and wanted in. Very scary. Do not stay in this place.

Room Tip: Don't stay here.
