Description: Johnnie Mae's Seafood & Grille is the sister restaurant to Slick Rick's Cafe located in Natchez, MS. If you like the bold flavors that come from Slick Rick's kitchen, you definitely should try the sophisticated tastes that are only found at Johnnie Mae's! Seafood, pasta, sandwiches, burgers, and salads are all found at the foot of the bridge. But, steaks are our specialty! You won't find a better one around! Come hungry! See you tomorrow.

Living in the area in the past few years we have frequented Johnnie Mae's every week, sometimes more due to bringing employees or out of town visitors. The last few times, the food has been subpar, the serving size depends on who is cooking (we asked they said sometimes they measure, sometimes they use a measuring cup ) When you ask to substitute something they sometimes allow it, sometimes don't and when they do you pay extra. The thing that has gotten me more than anything is the SERVICE!! Recently the service is horrible! Today we waited 35 minutes after we ordered and was told at the 30 min mark they were waiting for our single hamburger patty to cook! Not the chicken fried chicken, not the onion rings...a singe hamburger patty!!!Then when we asked to pay for our drinks and leave everyone got in gear and were hollering the foods up the foods up. We asked for the manager and she came to us and told us we had to pay for the food because it was NOW ready to be served. We explained the reason we were not and she argued and told us according to the ticket we had ordered only 20 min ago and then proceeded to tell us SOMEONE was going to pay for the food. We told her she better call someone because we were paying for the drinks and leaving. She rudely said well then I will pay for it, have a good day. No apology from the manager, nothing but hum glum faces. Everyone walks around like they hate it. The only nice person we encountered was the nice lady that runs the register, she was apologetic and seemed embarrassed by the so called manager. SERVICE HERE IS HORRIBLE AND OUR FAMILY WILL NOT RETURN! THEY FORGET IN SMALL TOWNS, WORD SPREADS FAST AND SOCIAL MEDIA IS A GREAT WAY TO EXPLAIN ISSUES!

We are glad to hear you have been a long-time visitor to Johnnie Mae's and are extremely sorry to hear about your experience on your last visit. We strive for perfection, which is difficult since we have hundreds of people coming in and out of the restaurant on a daily basis. This situation has been discussed with both the kitchen and the front of house staff. The server is supposed to inform the customer that if they are ordering a product, such as a hamburger, well-done it takes about 20 minutes from the ticket time to be cooked. The matter of inconsistency is one that is being addressed and once again, we strive to always be consistent, but sometimes it just doesn't happen. Once again, we are truly sorry and we always appreciate any information that can make our restaurant better.

There is a lot of different variety of meals on the menu. The appetizers are all good. I ordered the cajun smothered potato & it come out not as I was expecting. Small potato very little sauce and it was cut into spears. Not what I had in mind when i ordered. But, the second time we went i ordered the special which was a cajun chicken penne & it was delicious.

Thank you for your review, Kaicy! I am very glad to hear that you liked the appetizers and the daily special. I checked with the kitchen manager about the potato. They have since discussed the sizing issue with our produce provider. We are also always glad to provide customers with more sauce upon request. We hope to see you at Johnnie Mae's again. Thanks!

Old, worn out house. Whose history is amazing. Dinner near the hotel. Convenient location. Would recommend to others. Had the chicken fried chicken with white gravy. Wife had catfish. We shared and had a great dinner.
