Friends from Alabama and Georgia touring Maine happened upon this place looking for whale watching tours and were so glad we found it. With no elevator we needed a room on first floor. They worked hard to accomadate and succeeded. Staff offered great suggestions for dinner and things to do. We also got a discount for whale watching tour which was equally great and saw 6 whales and a sea turtle. While an older inn it was so clean and had everything we needed. Beds slept good and towels nice. Great sunset views and very much a family atmosphere. Right on water so lots of activity to see. The restaurant right next to the inn was very good too. We had a great time for our two night stay.

Boothbay Harbour is a neat place to visit. Great little harbour village. Cap'n Fish Inn is a no frills type of place.Has a motel feel about it. Check in was rather routine with no welcome from front desk who seemed to be going through the motions. Even a "welcome to Boothbay" might have been nice, especially after a seven hour drive to get there.
Our greeting was a request for credit card, photographic proof of identity and a stern warning tp make sure our car was parked within marked bays. As a professional ambulance driver I found the parking instruction to be insulting.Talk about stating the obvious. No information forthcoming about Boothbay itself. OK. Happy to explore on our own.We were offered free coffee which we were thankful for. Unfortunately, it was disgusting. So not a great start to our visit. We then went to find our room.Watch out if you have mobility issues as no elevator if you are not on the ground floor. Room was clean but dated. No problem with that. However, there are issues with privacy as others can quite clearly see into your room as they go past your window. The rooms need to have better curtains or shutters to provide a decent level of privacy. With regard to breakfast, don't get your expectations too high. You will be very disappointed with the poor fare on offer. Plus more poor coffee...Best to pop into Boothbay for breakfast really. On the plus side , the Inn is in very good location. I guess that is what you are paying for, but things could be so much better.Would not return to this place. The price might be attractive, but if you can afford a few dollars more then you should look at alternatives. Your memories of Boothbay might be enhanced if you upgrade. One night at Cap'n Fish was enough ...

This is not a fancy place, but it is affordable, the staff was friendly, and it is conveniently located right in Boothbay Harbor. It's an easy walk to the harbor bridge and the village, and it is very scenic. They had good coffee but otherwise the continental breakfast was quite disappointing, but the restaurant associated with the hotel -- right across the parking area and on the water -- had terrific eggs benedict. Oh -- and they had excellent soap in the room!!! A little touch of elegance. A good stay, all in all.

Room Tip: They all seem fine. First floor is easier to get to.

Nice Inn on the harbor. Short little walk to the bridge that connects you to downtown. Less than a 10 minute walk to get to the shops. Convenient restaurant on the premises with great food and a discount if you are staying at the Inn. Everything within walking distance. I was able to park my truck on Friday and not get back in it until Sunday when we left which made for a very relaxing 3 day weekend. Housekeeping does an above and beyond job cleaning the rooms and everyone was friendly.

Cap´n Fishs Inn is an affordable way to get in Boothbay Harbor a room with waterviews. Rooms are clean with comfortable beds but a little bit dated. Staff is friendly and helpful.
We had a balcony with two chairs facing to the habor.
Cap´n Fish is in walking distance to city center.

Room Tip: rooms with water view a little more expensive, but the view is amazing
