My wife and I were surprised how much we enjoyed Highland Lake Resort during the one night we had there. I booked it largely for the reasonable price, and didn’t expect to use the available facilities, as we were without our teenage daughters, and just about to visit them at summer overnight camp.
We wound up playing some ping pong and using the outdoor facilities a bit, even w/o children, and can imagine families at night or during the day would also enjoy having access to some simple boats—maybe canoes too—and things to do outside or in the game room.
I could see that the new owners have been working hard to continue improving this place, which already has the charm of overlooking a lake, a nice porch, and some family-friendly facilities; it already worked for us, and will likely only get better.
If you’re the kind of person who wants the trendiest glass tile in a bathroom, the simple and small shower/bathroom might not as good a fit, but I found the entire set-up both appealing and a great value, and will gladly stay here again when visiting children at a nearby summer camp. The rooms look good, and I'm impressed with the management.More
