Very clean. Great staff. No resort fee. Huge rooms. Restaurant was basic but fresh and delicious. And cheap! Beach isn't far and they have a shuttle. Two pools. Quiet! Not in an annoyingly touristy area. Would certainly come back. Rooms come with private deck, mini kitchen area, and a hammock. So nice! Great for people who want some privacy and hate those all inclusive/overly priced hotels.

If you look for a quiet spot outside the Cancun madness then this place is for you. The rooms are separate in small houses with patio and hammok. There are two swimming pools and the beach is 20 min walking distance from the hotel. You can either take the leisure walk through the jungle (very pleasant even on sun) or you have driver from the hotel. It is located right on the highway but without its noise because the jungle yard makes it all fade away. The staff is very nice, quick to react to any question or request and at all hours. The whole complex it gives you the feeling of being in a big hacienda. The main attractions and playa del Carmen are in a short taxi ride which cost about 350 pesos or you can take the public transport for 25 pesos. The hotel has two ATM machines, one for pesos and one for American dollars. There is a great traditional Mexican restaurant on the premises, don't be fooled by the Burger Stop name, doesn't have only burgers and the coffee is great! There is a private beach of the hotel which is amazing, very empty. It has even massage for 50 dollars per hour if you want plus umbrellas, lounge chairs and towels from the hotel. I can't think about one bad thing to comment on this hotel. All the best to Montserrat who is the sweetest person in da house. Thank you for all your help!

we stayed 5 nights a break elsewhere and 1 more night here because we liked it alot.
We took 20L of water with us finished that and some in 5 days.
Liked best the round pool, the room was lovely big cool private, and the beach.
Absolutely check out the restaurant around the beach south we walked there twice about 30min from room to beech and 30min walk around the corner to this nice restaurant.
Breakfast was good nice coffee. nice fruit and salty bread yum ew and the fresh orange juice.
The Tv room I enjoyed as they had the sports channel that i was interested in.
We made use of the beach taxi a few times that was nice to change it up(free during weekdays before 4pm or something)

cons none i really liked it.

Room Tip: 21 was larger than 6 but 6 had an extra sink in the main room.

Hotel Amarte is the perfect for those of us who don't like the massive tourism of all-inclusive hotels. It is important to recognize that this hotel is not on the beach, but it has a beautiful private beach (with other small boutique hotels) that is about 2 km away. The rooms are large and quiet. There is a nice restaurant (Cafe Amarte/Burger Stop) that has really good hamburgers.
The hotel is pet friendly and there are nice cats around. The staff are extremely nice and the hotel is extremely quiet. It is the perfect place to read, relax, and pass a nice time with yourself or your loved ones.
You need to have a car in this hotel. If not, there is very little to do (unless you just want to relax).
The hotel is in the dry forest of Yucatan, and the vegetation is beautiful. The beach is quite virgin. That means you will not find food or drink there. However, you can take your lunch from the hotel.

Room Tip: Rooms as far away of highway 307 as possible

Horacio, Montserrat, Gabriel and all the amazing staff at Amarte are working wonders on this little paradise. I visited about 1 1/2 years ago and loved it although they had just started improvements. This visit I was extremely impressed with the fabulous improvements and will return as soon as possible.....before the secret gets out!

Rooms are individual buildings with hammocks on the porch in a magical relaxing jungle garden with two swimming pools on site and a great cafe selling home made food and really delicious sweet breads.

The architect, who also designed the nearby hotels has designed a magical paradise both at Amarte which is close to the highway and its sister beachfront hotel and restaurant Kin Sol Soleil.

The hotel offer courtesy transport to its own idyllic Lolita beach (there is no restaurant yet on Lolita beach but the hotel can provide a cool bag) or if you purchase a day pass to its sister hotel beach.

Depending on whether you feel like a relaxed on site meal or an elegant dining experience Dinner can either be taken at Amarte Cafe, now a really ambient space, in your room or at the sister hotel by the beach.

It is really easy to use the public transport (collectivo) from Amarte to get to Playa Del Carmen, swimming with turtles at Akumal, the fishing village Puerto Morelos, Tulum etc without paying high excursion fees. (Just be careful crossing the highway).
