Beautiful campus to walk around! There is an art gallery and various events open to the public. Check their schedule online before your visit. A map can also be found online.

Would be so happy if our daughter decides to attend Bowdoin College. It would be a great excuse to visit this beautiful campus and charming college town. Admissions staff was informative, friendly and sharp. We'll see...

I was visiting friends and they had a soccer tournament on the fields of Bowdoin. It is a picturesque campus and very well maintained grounds.

The campus is beautiful, and steeped in a rich history of famous alums and professors--Hawthorne, Longfellow, Joshua Chamberlain. Definitely take a long walk around the campus and through the neighborhoods. Chamberlain's grave site is a short walk from campus. The Walker Art Museum and the Peary-MacMillan Arctic Museum are well worth the visit. As well, during the summer, the Maine State Music Theater puts on some fabulous musicals at the Pickard theater. Summer is also the time that students from around the world attend the musical program and Bowdoin puts on the International Music Festival.

I am retired military. When looking at local colleges/universities to utilize my GI Bill, I investigated Bowdoin College.
It is a beautiful campus with a rich and proud history. I SERIOUSLY considered attending the college because of its history and reputation as a top-shelf college.
Education is NOT a priority at Bowdoin College. Purity of Political thought reigns. Sadly, Bowdoin College, once a great American learning institution is now little more than an indoctrination center for left-leaning "thought."
The prime example of this is the fact that to earn a degree in Bachelor's Degree in History, a student does NOT have to take any courses in American History...so much for rigorous investigation. The staff at Bowdoin are universally professional education types with little, if any real world experience beyond the hallowed halls of academia. In conversations with numerous staff members, I could not find one with any practical experience in their specialties.
While I was academically qualified and was informed that I could be accepted to Bowdoin College "if I so desired" it was made crystal clear to me that Bowdoin College is decidedly anti-military, and I was informed that I would "experience difficulty fitting in."
As such, I chose to attend classes at University of Southern Maine. It's a bit of a drive, but the courses are complete and challenging and I believe I am actually receiving an education there instead of an ongoing lecture on the evils of America.
