We found the stairs daunting (even with the valet service carrying bags) and the room sort of dumpy given the price. Included breakfast at Natalie's was OK but not stellar. Best part of stay was view from outside porch near restaurant. Our view of the harbor was obstructed and uninspiring, the furnishings trite and uncomfortable. While other reviews rave about attentive service and "European flair," what we experienced was quite different. For the $$$$ I expect courteous rather than blase. There are lots of better places to stay in the area, it would seem, and one can still enjoy the view from the porch over dinner if it seems desirable.

Room Tip: Not a good place for older travelers or those with issues climbing stairs. Also, bedding is awkward...

We stay at the CHI for romantic getaways now and then and have always had excellent experiences. This time we went midweek and stayed in the New Amsterdam suite. The only complaint I have is that we were awakened at 6:55 a.m. by trucks backing up. The truck noise went on for 25 minutes or so and then was over, but it was enough to wake us up. I don't know if they were picking up the dumpster or if it was construction trucks. The innkeeper didn't seem to know about it.
Apart from this, our stay was as perfect as always. The food at Natalie's is some of the best in Maine (try the shrimp risotto) and the bartender is fabulous. Make sure you spend time hanging out at the bar having a drink before your dinner, it will be worth you while.
If you go to Camden, don't even consider staying elsewhere.

Room Tip: Ask bout construction before choosing a room

My Husband and I were just there Feb 16 &17, I would recommended this inn It is beautiful. We went on a Thursday night and we loved it, not to many people staying at the inn on a Thursday night. When we arrived they came out to greet us in the parking lot brought our luggage up to our room. The view was breath taking not very often you have 40 degree weather in Camden Maine in the winter. I also had a massage on Friday, it was so relaxing. We would go back to this Inn, although we did not have dinner there we did hear other guests raving about the food.

Last week we stayed at Camden Harbour Inn recommended by friends living in Camden Maine. We are not easy to please and used to impeccable service and luxurious hotels. My husband is a CEO for a large software company and we travel extensively. Camden Harbour Inn is among the best experiences we ever had and highly recommended for people who like great service. The location, the rooms and facilities are all beautiful, but it is the service that makes this inn stands out. Personable and attentive with staff that sincerely seems to care about your well being. Somehow they seem to know better what you need, than you did yourself. Extra water was stocked when housekeeping noticed we were drinking more water than average, the room spotless cleaned when you return from breakfast and the room ready for the night including fresh new towels, more water and chocolates in your room when you come back from dinner. We have never been more impressed.

Room Tip: We stayed in Bonaire a corner room with panoramic views over the harbor, also from your bathtub!

Oscar & Raymond, with their cultured European outlook, run one of the most exceptional inns in New England. The rooms and baths - appointed with fine luxurious touches and beautiful beds that invite wonderful intimacy. It's warm inviting hearth offers fun conversation smiles & laughter with newly made friends. The views of the glistening bay and sturdy Mount Battie, and ahhhh....Natalies, morning, afternoon or night, the toast of the town that offers delicate foods that one must always savor with one of the finest cocktails to be had in Maine.

This inn is a keeper and its phone number, one that should be stored in every gentleman's phone who wishes to treat his lady well.

The stairs are narrow and steep and they do not have an elevator. The other negative is that we had a king bed that was so thick with a down mattress cover that our weight created a divider (and neither of us is obese). Did not enjoy that at all. Otherwise the bed & breakfast is beautiful, the location perfect, the rooms are clean with a modern decor, the staff are wonderful, and the food at Natalie's is first rate. We must have gone during peak season as the cost per night was considerbly higher than what I am seeing offered on Groupon.

Thank you for your recent review of Camden Harbour Inn. We appreciate you taking the time to provide us with your feedback regarding your recent stay. It is through these opportunities that we can learn and improve our operation.

We are happy to hear you enjoyed your guest room, our personalized lifestyle service and both your dinner and breakfast at our award winning dining facility Natalie's. I will make sure to share your compliments with our staff.

Regarding the stairs, the beautiful Victorian property was built in 1874 and the staircase is one of the historical highlights of the building. We decided not to remove or replace this original staircase as we provide complimentary bell captain service and it is only 14 short steps to the 2nd floor. In addition we have a beautiful room on the first floor available. For future reference please inform our innkeepers when you make a reservation about your immobility and we will make sure a suitable room will be reserved.

Most people enjoy our European 4inch feather beds proven the amount of feather beds we sell every year to our guests. However we are happy to remove the feather bed for your comfort. All our king-size beds are with a pillow top mattresses in addition to our feather bed, so very comfortable.

Again thank you for taking the time to review your stay and we hope to welcoming you back in the nearby future.
Sincerely
Raymond Brunyanszki
