My wife and I were having a great dinner at the Fisherman's Inn in Winter Harbor, Maine. Turns out the owner also has a Bed and Breakfast. We opted to spend the next night there at the B&B instead of doing the 5H+round trip travel time to our Brunswick hotel. What a great experience. A beautiful Victorian style home, with private bath. Clean, quite and comfortable. Like stepping back in time. My wife and I felt as if we had "Come Home"! Owners Kathy and Carl Johnson were terrific hosts. We were treated to a fantastic breakfast, prepared by Chef Carl. Kathy and Carl happen to own the Fisherman's Inn Restaurant and Grinstone Neck of Maine Smoked Seafoods just down the road in Winter Harbor. Cannot go wrong for dining, lodging and delectable treats for on the road or for your return home. All are most highly recommended.

We had a wonderful stay at the Sunset House. We stayed for two nights and would have stayed longer given the chance. The Sunset House was easy to find. It was very peaceful and relaxing and we couldn't have asked for more gracious and accomodating hosts. The room was very neat and clean and relaxing. The views were wonderful and begged to be explored further. The Johnson's were very friendly, accomodating, and knowledgeable. They are very nice people who gladly shared their knowledge of the area, offering different routes to explore with the most scenic views, as well as their vast knowledge of food and cooking The breakfasts were hardy and the company relaxed and gracious. We had a chance to eat at The Fisherman's Inn Restaurant and had an excellent dinner. The recommendations were right on. We plan to visit the area again and we will most certainly stay at the Sunset House.

Very nice people. Chef Johnson makes the best breakfasts I've ever had in my life. The natural beauty surrounding the B&B is superb. We spent some time there taking pictures of the American Bald Eagles flying among the trees that circle the huge pond. Just down the road is the Fisherman's Inn Restaurant which is also owned by the Johnson's. The food and scenic location are top notch.

This was our first trip to Maine, and our stay here really made it a perfect vacation. We stayed for three nights, and wish we could have been there a little longer. The location of the Sunset House was wonderful, our room was very nice, the breakfast's were excellent, and the hosts were friendly, knowledgeable, and gave us lots of pointers about what to see in the area.

First of al,l the room was very pleasant, clean, and comfortable. We loved having the windows on three sides and the wonderful breeze blowing through the curtains.

The breakfasts were great, and Kathy and Carl were very very accommodating to my husband's gluten intolerance. In fact, Kathy showed my husband how to make a great healthy gluten free muffin that he has made at home everyday since returning from vacation.

We loved the location and its proximity to the area close to the Schoodic Peninsula section of Acadia National Park. It was also an easy drive to Bar Harbor and the Desert Island portion of Acadia where we spent an entire day. After spending time in Bar Harbor, it was nice to come back to the Sunset House and it's peaceful beautiful location overlooking the bay.

Our hosts gave us lots of pointers about what to see in the area, and we loved Kathy's suggestion about going to Campobello Island in New Brunswick to see the whales and seals. It was exciting to be able to see them from the shore.

I hope we get the chance to visit Maine again, and if we do, we will stay at the Sunset House again. For anybody traveling to Maine for any reason, we would recommend it. We really want to go back.

Drove 7 and a half hours from Connecticut to check out a sailboat and stayed at this charming B&B. Clean and comfortable and the best breakfast you could ask for. The owners (who live there as in a true B&B) could not have been more gracious. I hear they run the best restaurant in town ( the Fisherman's Inn), but it was not open at the time.

Room tip: Call rather than book online.
