This is a pretty a average hotel at a very high price. The rooms are comfortable but not well equiped. There is no lobby where one can meet friends. There is no restaurant. There is no fridge in the room. There is no one at the desk after 7pm. Parking is inadequate and some quite far away up the street with many threatening signs if you park in a non authorized spot even when there are none left.
All that is secondary to the price which is way above what it should be for the type of accommodations offered. You can do much better nearby at many places, some with far better facilities.

Hello Doug_Seagrim

We are sorry that you did not enjoy your time with us at the Grand Hotel. Being a boutique hotel in the middle of the shopping and restaurant center does provide us with some parking challenges. We do have extra parking about a one minutes walk from the hotel if the spots at the hotel are all taken. We are disappointed to read that you thought we were overpriced and lacking services. We have done our best to attempt to provide some great amenities included in our rates to overcome some of the options we do not have on property such as unlimited beach cruiser rentals, a supper shuttle to take you to our other properties and restaurants in the evening, use of heated pools at our sister properties, complimentary refrigerators upon request, beach chairs & towels, beach parking passes and complimentary prosecco in the afternoon. We have even secured additional parking spots less than one minute's walk from the hotel.

Once again we are very sorry that you did not enjoy your time with us and we do hope that you will give us another chance in the future should your travels bring you to the area.

Warm regards,

Tom | Front Office Manager

We stayed one night at The Grand Hotel. The room decor was really nice; the bed was comfortable; and the complimentary butler's pantry was a very nice addition. If we found ourselves in this area of the country again, we would definitely stay here.

If you're looking for a boutique hotel and a 10x12 ft room with no breakfast, no fridge, tiny cupboard space, no towel racks, only one chair situated over a noisy thoroughfare, at an exorbitant price then you've found the right spot.

Hello Simon L,

We are sorry to hear that you did not enjoy your time with us. We are a boutique hotel in the middle of lower village and from time to time it can get road noise to our rooms. We have a multitude of different rooms and they are all different. It sounds like you had our Classic room type booked which does only have one sitting chair in them. The classic is also our most economic option for rooms and therefor are not our larger rooms. Once again I apologize you were unhappy with your accommodations. We do hope you will give us another chance if you should ever be in the area again.

Kind regards,

Tom | Front Office Manager

I'm not sure I even want to share this because I feel that we'll never be able to book a room again because they will be filled and have no vacancy. This hotel delivers on style, ambience and amenities. Upon entering our room we were impressed with the tasteful decor, the complimentary robes, the keurig coffee pot and the delightful balcony overlooking the streetscape. We were within walking distance to everything! This hotel has truly spoiled us forever and we will always find ourselves comparing it to future stays elsewhere. We were told that they are extending their lobby space to the adjoining art gallery and will be offering a continental breakfast and wine. Please don't change too much. We love you the way you are.

Room tip: Get a room with a balcony...wait ignore that ....we want them to save room for us...

Thank you for such a great review. We are so glad to hear you enjoyed your time with us. We are very excited about moving our lobby area to the new location as it will give our guests a great place to enjoy some great artwork and also a place to kick back and relax outside of their room and meet other guests. We hope to have you as our guest and I am sure we will be able to get you in!

Comfy beds. Clean rooms. Located in Kennebunk, one of Maine's most-visited attractions. The architecture of the building is stand-out New England. The staff was super-friendly and helpful. Around the hotel, there are shops, restaurants, bars, etc. IT is convenient to everything. Highly recommend.
