“Fabulous B&B”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 10 October 2011

Our first visit to Maine and stayed at the King's Inn Bed and Breakfast in Kennebunk, Maine and highly recommend staying here. The room is very spacious, close to the beach, shopping and restaurants. The bed is very comfortable for a good nights sleep. This is a good place for the money, you cannot go wrong here. We did learn check in is at 3:00 and no early check in :(

Room Tip: Higher floors you don't have to worry about someone over you walking around.

This hotel falls into the "you get what you pay for" PLUS category.

Excellent location - walk into town and numerous restaurants. (It was raining so we didn't do "beach")

Staff was extremely friendly, helpful and gracious. Breakfast was off-the-scale great! (MMM, those waffles!)

Room was rudimentary but again - we weren't paying typical Kennebunkport prices!

Would definitely recommend. Clean, gracious, well located. We were happy and would stay again - which is what really matters, isn't it!

This is a deal in the very pricey Kennebunkport and Kennebunk beach area. Location is perfect because you can walk into the Port, but you don't have to contend with the Port traffic if you want to go to the beach. Rooms are clean, basic, and set up smartly. The free breakfast bar is a nice bonus that I wasn't expecting. You also get a free beach parking pass, which is another nice bonus.

Location was great as far as shopping and restaurants. Included breakfast which was very good. Rooms were very comfortable -- we got the jacuzzi suite and never used the jacuzzi tub nor the 2nd of the two showers. Would have been better to ave regular shower/tub and larger closet space like the room across the hall which our son and daughter-in-law were in. No elevator so keep that in midn that you'll have to drag your luggage up the steps.

The King's Port Inn was a fantastic hotel for a very reasonable price. Although it is called an Inn, it is really more like a Best Western. However, the rooms were very clean and spacious. The hotel staff was friendly and knowledgeable. The location was perfect. It is only steps away from the downtown area, whale watching, and some of the best restaurants in Kennebunkport/Kennebunk. There were several options at the complimentary breakfast including freshly made waffles. They also offer coffee and tea throughout the day into the evening and a computer near the front desk. Although there are other hotels/b&b's in Kennebunkport with more charm, we would definitely return to the King's Port Inn. It was the perfect hotel for resting your head in between all the activities Kennebunkport has to offer.

Needs updating badly, beds & pillows dreadful, flooring, furniture, lilghting, ridiculously small water closet (no venting). The tv was very small & old, no lcd here! Best thing about this place is the parking. We have stayed here before but never again.

Room Tip: Check the room before you stay.

From the management and staff we would like you to know that every person at King’s port Inn works exceptionally hard, with pride, to provide friendly service and quality accommodations at a reasonable price in an expensive area.
We are sorry that this reviewer was unable to find anything positive to say about the room. Had this guest let us know that she was unhappy, we would have done everything within our power to find a reasonable solution. Had we been unable to do so, we would have gladly refunded her money and released her from the obligation of her stay.

This Inn is actually a motel tricked out to resemble an inn if you squint. It is in bad need of outdoor repair. The paint is worn, there is dirty carpeting outside and a strange and uncomfortable area called an atrium (no plants) provided excessive heat outside our room. No balconies nor comfortable outdoor seating.
The rooms are clean with circa 1970’s décor. Noisy window air conditioner and parking lot views complete the picture.
The breakfast room is clean and an adequate breakfast provided. We were there during summer and were surprised that no fresh fruit was available. The coffee was insipid.

Room Tip: ??? The entire inn needs renovation.

Dear needs help,

Thank you for taking the time to review King’s Port Inn. We consider all reviews as tools that help us to focus on areas that need improvement.

Our Premium King and Queen rooms were designed to offer an economical lodging option in an otherwise expensive area. While comfortable and adequate, they are the most basic of all our room offerings and are priced as such.

Perhaps if you return to this area again, you would consider increasing your budget for a room that has ambiance that would better match your expectations. We do offer spacious, beautiful rooms with massive four-poster king beds, luxurious two-person Jacuzzi’s with dual showers, gas fireplaces, granite countertops and marble tiles and more.

We thank you for staying with us and hope to have you as our guest again in the future!
Warmest Regards,
