We just returned from our stay at Captain Lord Mansion, and we had an exceptional experience. The mansion is just beautiful, and our room was immaculate and comfortable. I also appreciated the more up-to-date bathroom. The decor was quite beautiful as well. When we first pulled up to the mansion, we were greeted by a gentleman (Al, I believe) who took our bags. He was very nice and continued to be so friendly throughout our stay. As soon as we stepped inside, we were greeted by Michelle who also gave us a tour of the house. She, too, was exceptionally friendly and kind throughout our stay. We wanted for nothing, and the breakfast here is fabulous (as are the afternoon cookies). As far as location, you couldn't get any better. It was an easy walk to town, St. Anne's Episcopal, and Mabel's. We will definitely return here and have already recommended it to our family. This truly was an exceptional experience.

Room Tip: We stayed in the hesper room, on the corner on the 3rd floor. It was lovely. The other rooms...

We stayed 3 nights at Captain Jefferds Inn while vacationing in Maine, This was our first time in Maine and our first time staying at a Bed & Breakfast. Our experience could not have been better. From the time we arrived we felt right at home. We stayed in the Terrace room and it was beautiful and immaculate. The sheets on the bed were the best! And the robes were an added bonus! Each breakfast we had was delicious and served by a friendly staff. The location of the Inn was perfect. It was with-in walking distance from everything in town, yet in a quiet neighborhood. If we return to Kennebunkport, we will definitely stay at Captain Jefferds Inn!

Room tip: Terrace Room was great as it had a side entrance from the outside of the Inn.

We are thrilled to hear that your first stay at a bed and breakfast and your first visit to Maine were so enjoyable and proud that we played a part in making the experience special! Thank you so much for all of your kind words. It is wonderful to know that you found the sheets divine and the meals delicious. It is certainly our hope that little touches like silky soft sheets and plush robes will add elements of luxury to our guests' stay. Of course breakfast is one of the stars of the show, so we whip up fresh, made-from-scratch creations each morning. Hopefully the breakfasts were the perfect fuel for getting out to explore everything that area has to offer. We look forward to welcoming you back the next time your travels bring you to Kennebunkport!

Warmest wishes, Sarah and Erik, Keepers of the Captain Jefferds Inn

From the moment I parked my car - and walked toward the welcoming "candle" lights in the windows - I knew I had arrived at a special place, indeed. Welcomed by another guest no less - and immediately followed by a gracious welcome from Steve - I felt relaxed and at home. Steve did a seamless check-in for me and took me to my wonderful little Hideaway where I had the good fortune of staying for three nights. The rooms are immaculate - well tended - exuding warmth and comfort. And - the breakfasts are just over the top - beautifully prepared - lovingly served - and we always had to be asked to finally leave we all got so involved in conversations with one another. (There are two seatings - so it you choose the first seating - you do have to be finished within an hour). While I have lived away for 30 years now - the Kennebunks are "home" where I grew up and went to school. It is a pleasure to come back and experience the delightful hometown feeling where even though changes have been many - the gentle graciousness and strong history of the area still remain. The current owners have embraced this graciousness and history and added their wonderful touches and amenities to the Inn - touches I am sure would make Captain Jefferd proud to know his legacy is in such thoughtful hands.

Room tip: All rooms are lovely - perhaps just talk with the owners or staff before booking to make sure the type of bedding and location are what you truly desire. Particularly if you need more than one room - you want to be sure they are probably close to one another. Wherever you are in this place - you will enjoy every moment!

We are so happy that you felt warmly welcomed and comfortable during your stay. It is special for us to know that we helped make your visit "home" so enjoyable. Steve is a gem and truly focused on helping guests get the most out of their visit. We deeply appreciate the history of the area and the home we are fortunate enough to be the stewards of, so it is wonderful to hear that our appreciation shines through. Thank you so much for your kind words. We hope to welcome you back the next time you plan a trip home.

All the best, Sarah and Erik, Keepers of the Captain Jefferds Inn

Located within easy walking distance of the center of Kennebunkport, this highly rated bed and breakfast lives up to its reputation. The rooms and grounds are as they appear in the photos. Service is excellent, and all the staff was very friendly and helpful. You will enjoy meeting other travelers, particularly at the excellent breakfasts, which are offered as early and late (9:45 AM) seatings. The inn and the area are highly recommended.

My wife and I greatly enjoyed our stay at the Captain Fairfield Inn, Kennebunkport, Maine. After all, if you're going to Maine, why not stay in the stately home of a sea Captain? The house was gorgeous. Our ground-floor room was tastefully decorated and included a small sitting area. Breakfasts were filling and delicious. The hosts were friendly and helped us plan our daily site-seeing itinerary. The Inn is a short walk from the town centre and close to several good restaurants. And Kennebunkport is not only a very pretty town, it's a good home base for visiting attractions, including some great, rugged sea coast locations. We'd stay there again any time.

My wife and I stayed there two nights in the Lincoln room, though legend says its haunted, not this time. The place was immaculate, we felt at home, breakfasts were the best and the people we met the greatest. Thumbs up to all of you at the mansion for making our stay so enjoyable.
There was only one huge problem, we had to leave.
Thank you for a great time and making our anniversary special
