My husband and I stayed ati the inn in November 2011. I had never stayed at an inn before so I did not know what to expect. Upon arrival, we were treated as if we were at someone's home, not just checking in to a room. The staff was awesome. The room we stayed in was named the Americana. It was everything I thought it would be and more! The soaking tub was great! The room was very comfortable and had the greatest personal touches. We will be going back as soon as possible. Thanks Bev & Rick, you are great hosts!!

Dear Rebecca, We are always pleased to initiate guests into the B&B experience and we are thankful that you had such a pleasurable stay with us. Also, thank you for mentioning our staff. We believe that the overall experience at the CLM is truly enhanced by our staff. Many ladies love the deep soaking and jetted tub in the Americana room. Hope to see you again when you need rest and relaxation. Your innkeeper, Rick Litchfield

The inn exceeded our expectations in every way! Lovely inn both inside and out. Conveniently located, beautifully appointed rooms, delicious tea time snacks and breakfast. The staff was delightful and the guests were extremely friendly. We only had time for a short stay but it felt like we were away longer as it was so easy to relax. Just what we needed!

Dear Lynnfield, Thank you for this extraordinary review. While we strive to meet each guest's expectations, we are so pleased when we do or when we exceed them! Also, thank you for mentioning our staff's friendliness. We have a lovely building and grounds, but our staff gives it a real heart. We look forward to your next visit.

I recently spent a night at the Captain Lord Mansion in celebration of my husband's 30th birthday. From the moment we got there, we didn't want to leave. The staff was wonderful and accommodating, the rooms were gorgeous, and the breakfast was delicious. We met some amazing people, including a couple who had been there 47 times! Our only regret is that we only stayed for one night!! We can't wait for our next visit.

Virutally no detail or comfort has been forgotten at this lovely, sprawling B & B within walking distance of everything. From the cocoa dispenser in the lower hall, to the handy ring-holder next to the bed, to the heated marble bathroom floors, it was obvious that alot of thought and effort has gone into making this the kind of pampered getaway we all dream about. Our corner room was more ike a suite and we enjoyed the luxury of the loveseats by the fire (and the quiet neighborhood). Highlight was the towels ! Turkish cotton so thick and absorbent I went online and bought the same (pricey) brand when I got home. Lowlight was breakfast, which did not match the imaginative feasts I've had elsewhere.

Room Tip: Request a room facing the expansive front lawn and not the rear parking lot

Dear Framingham, Thank you for your very positive review which mentions many of the small touches you found here at the inn. My wife Bev is the one who continues to add little touches to the rooms to make each more comfortable and enjoyable. However, she is very careful not to overdo the decorating so that guests won't feel the rooms are cluttered or that there is not enough space for personal items. Rick Litchfield, Innkeeper

What a lovely comfortable and luxurious B&B! The property is immaculately kept and decorated beautifully throughout. There is a very nice afternoon tea served (with delicious goodies), as well as a sumptuous breakfast to start your day off on a happy note. Frequent guests even earn a brick on their walk of fame. The inn is within walking distance to the center of almost everything too. There's nothing to not love when a guest there.

Room Tip: Go to the website to see the rooms. There are many different beautiful ones to choose from.

Dear West Hartford, Thank you for your positive review. This weekend upon returning from a week's vacation, the first couple I met in the lobby raved about our staff. Bev and I are thrilled that when we are away from the inn, it runs smoothly and the guest are treated so well by our staff. So, not only is the inn beautiful, but also it is warm and welcoming. Yes, our new website does have an extensive photo gallery so that you may choose just the right accommodation for your getaway. Your innkeper, Rick Litchfield

Once again March brought us to our annual trip to Kennebunkport. This was our tenth visit to The Captain Lord and as always, they never disappoint us. We stayed in the Oriental this time and were greeted by a plate of freshly baked cookies in the suite. Rick was there the night we checked in bc Maine was experiencing their first winter Nor-Easter. So when we arrived snow covered and tired it was nice to see that the owner himself was there making sure everyone came in safely to their rooms.

Breakfast was wonderful and I loved the treat of steak and eggs that were added to their Sunday menu....of course my favorite is still the sticky buns:-) Sue is our favorite cook!!

We also happened to be at The Inn during one of their wine tastings. If you can plan your trip around one it would be highly recommended. We had the pleasure of hearing the owner of Billy's Clam Shack and Vaccarros give a presentation. He wasn't a sommelier but he was passionate about his wines and had an extensive private collection which he shared some of his bottles. The off season January through April is a great time to go to Kennebunkport for R and R, not to mention the wonderful value. The Inn offers three nights for the price of two, a wine tasting and the first week of March is Restaraunt Week in Maine. Most places offer three course meals for $30 a person, so you can eat lobster, crab, and all the other gourmet foods of Maine for a fraction of on season prices!!

Can't wait until next year!!!

Room Tip: The Mary Lord has a spa shower that includes a steam shower and about a hundred body jets!!

Dear Easton, Wow, we sure appreciate your ten visits to the inn! Yes, the wine tastings have been a big hit. This is the fourth year doing them on the "First Saturday" of each month from February through May. There were 14 couples that weekend who enjoyed Dick's knowledge and enthusiasm about Italian wines. We'll let you know when he is scheduled for 2013! Your innkeeper, Rick Litchfield,

We stayed in the Regulator Room and were thrilled with the decor, the coziness, the cleanliness and the attention to every detail. The staff was incredibly attentive and the service was impeccable. The one thing we found a bit surprising were the breakfasts. With the fine attention to detail throughout the inn it was surprising the breakfast presentations were simple and bare. Don't get me wrong - the 3 courses were filling and delicious, but we weren't blown away by the simplicity of the servings. That certainly doesn't impact how highly regard the inn and strongly recommend it.
