We went on our Autumn visit to the Camden, ME area last week. The Mt. Battie room (on the high side) was very comfortable and quiet. Recommendations for things to do were excellent - they made sailing reservations for us. Breakfast was delicious, with a wide assortment of pastries. The owner-managers are focused on quality.

It's hard to find reasonable lodging in the Camden area with a view of the water, but the Mt. Battie Inn provides it all. My group of 4 stayed here in the apartment: 2 BR,2BA, LR, kitchenette, large patio. The furnishings and cleanliness were without fault!!! It was our best accommodation during the week from Portland to Bar Harbor and we all wished we could have planned to stay longer. Ed and Christine made us feel like we were old friends --even nicer, since we showed up without notice :) -- and helped us choose the rooms which were best for us. Christine's breakfast goodies were fabulous and their dinner suggestions were right on. I've stayed in Camden several times but we really enjoyed having coffee and looking out at the lovely views of the water.....then driving six miles to the crowds in Camden.

Room Tip: All rooms have water views. Some rooms have various configurations to meet differing needs. The fami...

We have stayed at this motel a few times in the past and knew it was well maintained and offered an excellent breakfast. On entering our unit I managed to knock over a small table top lamp and broke the energy efficient bulb. I offered to clean up, but Ed, the owner, personally came over with a vacuum and took care of my mess.

Christina, Ed's wife, is the perfect hostess for the continental breakfast that is included in the price of the room. We enjoyed a breakfast of house made baked goods, fresh fruit, cereal and juices.

Both Ed and Christina were also very helpful about where to dine and what to see.

Clean, clean, clean! The Mount Battie is very comfortable and Ed and Christine are excellent hosts. We checked in late and were greeted warmly--Christine made us dinner reservations at an excellent restaurant not far away. Breakfast is delicious and eating it on the porch is a treat. Don't miss the drive up Mt Battie. The view is spectacular.

Large room with comfortable bed and seating. The owners were very friendly and helpful in planning our day. The homemade breakfast baked goods were excellent. We would stay here again.

Room Tip: Room 104 had view of the water.

The Mount Battie Inn was very accommodating to our needs. Ed and Christine are very personable innkeepers. Thoroughly enjoyed Christine's homemade breads and muffins, along with farm fresh hard boiled eggs, selection of teas, etc. Breakfast on the deck very inviting which overlooked Penobscot Bay (Inn located west of main road). As far as location, the inn was also very convenient to Camden and the surrounding areas.

Thank you! Cindy, Springfield, Illinois
