Description: If you are looking for a more personalized, unique, boutique style experience, simplicity where “guests feel incredibly connected with our destination and the local way of life”. Then look no further. The Youngtown Inn Restaurant offers elegant dining in gracious surroundings. Chef/owner Manuel Mercier draws upon his French heritage and European training to create an array of traditionally prepared dishes. Your hosts are extremely proud and grateful to have been reviewed and featured in local as well as national publications. A seasonally-changing dinner menu is supplemented with daily special offerings which take advantage of the freshest available ingredients. Lobster ravioli, rack of lamb and creme brulee have been the theme for many culinary writers. My wife and I stopped by after a day of hiking and enjoyed a dinner of gazpacho with Maine crab, a lovely green salad and lamb with ratatouille that was sensational. This was paired with good wine. We finished the meal off with a soufflé with creme anglaise and a lemon and fruit tart. All choices were excellent. The service was delightful. We look forward to returning.

We have been coming to the Youngtown Inn since they opened about 25 years ago. Same owners/family. We saw their 3 children grow up to be professionals. But the best part is that the food, the ambiance, the staff are 5 star. It is a beautiful restaurant, old world charm yet it has all the necessary extras to make dining a marvelous experience. Last night we brought friends from California and they, like everyone we have brought there, were shocked: "We had no idea Maine had such marvelous places!" While there are many good/excellent restaurants in the area we return here time and time again. You always see many of the same people who have discovered the Youngtown Inn and Restaurant. You may also see a well known personality as it is a favorite restaurant for many who live on the coast of the USA.
One of the wonderful aspects of the restaurant is that you can carry on a conversation as the decibel level is low and that is such a treat for us. We live in downtown DC during the winter and while there are many nice restaurants they decibel level is so high you eat and run. Not so at the Youngtown Inn!

The staff is extraordinary. Michael has been a server since it opened while the newest person has only been there 14 years!!! Keeping a staff that long also says something positive about the restaurant.

Then there is the food!!! Last night's halibut fillet in a special sauce was to die for, and the lamb rack was fantastic. While you can order off the menu, the fixed price menu is amazing. Great food, great service, great price and its consistent!

So, do I (we) like the Youngtown Inn? I think its pretty obvious. We have eaten at many fine restaurants around the world, and the Youngtown always stands out.

You can't go wrong but be sure to make a reservation!

A good sign is returning customers and it was very evident that many of the diners were local regular customers one of which had two standard poodles curled up under their table (well behaved and across the dining room from us). Our dinner was excellent too.

Although we were guests at the Youngtown Inn for the weekend, we were fortunate enough to dine at the restaurant for dinner as well as have the delicious breakfast served each morning. The lamb chops were delectable and the filet was cooked to perfection. The wait staff and the innkeepers were incredibly hospitable and accommodating. Can't wait to return for another delicious meal!

Don't miss Manuel's classic and delicious cooking - everything is amazing and the soufflé for dessert is a must. The setting is romantic and warm, and the wait staff have been there for years, and are absolutely lovely. The best treat is dining in the restaurant and, after a bottle of wine, walking upstairs to the charming Inn. The best!
