My wife and I were looking for accommodations for early August when we were traveling from our home in California to attend the 100th anniversary celebration of Camp Arcadia girls camp in Casco and a concurrent family reunion. We were looking for a quiet, first floor place with a king size bed (not common in these parts). The "small cottage" here was perfect with separate bed and sitting rooms, each with its own TV, lots of chairs, oodles of towels, etc. Magnificent custom breakfasts in the best B&B tradition, super in-room coffee plus fridge and microwave. Request for a brighter reading lamp resulted in a choice of three! A careful reading of the occasional negative review usually showed the reviewer expecting a significant bending of the carefully spelled out "house rules". Read 'em -- if you don't like 'em, don't book!

Room Tip: Best views would be in some of the main building rooms. Ours was quiet and convenient, about a 20-foot walk to our car.

Owner was so nice ..We arrived late she greeted us with smile and we got the last room with a view , It was right across from night life or just a nice walk along lake . Beautiful dining room , breakfast was delicious and her pastries are to die for .. If you forget any toiletries she has them

We stayed one night whilst touring New England and found this charming old world Guest House whilst looking for a stop on Sebago Lake. Family run and feels very much like visiting friends. Rooms are oldie worldly but that adds to the charm and the house is right at the end of the lake. Breakfast was all fresh, home made and delicious. Lovely place to stay when touring.

My husband and I went for a weekend get away, and we were very happy, the room was so pretty, and since there is still snow on the ground the room was nice and warm. Arlean the owner was so nice and helpful on where to go for our dinner. She servers up a good breakfast, and made us feel right at home, we had a great weekend shopped at some Antique shops, and thrift stores where we found some Antique's! Naples and the surrounding towns the people are so friendly. We would go back to the Augustus Bove House for sure, we had a great time, the place was very clean, Arlean, sorry if I am spelling it wrong, but she was like going to visit an Aunt who made us feel special. Mr. & Mrs LaPoint

Room Tip: I think there is wifi, but we did not bring our laptop, we wanted time together without the laptop, or phone. Much better staying there than a cold feeling hotel room.

I read the terrible reviews, just to see how anyone could possibly write a bad review about this place. The rooms are spacious, the beds comfortable, the hostess is a character with a lot of spunk. Perhaps a couple folks interaction with her was colored by their own attitude. My friend and I had a perfectly lovely time, enjoyed a great breakfast, and were even given gifts by Arlene. For those wanting to park extra cars, or be coming and going late at night, Arlene's disapproval seems to be her desire to offer guests a quiet, pleasant experience. B&Bs are not party hotels, and hers is no exception. That's why we like them!

Room Tip: We stayed in the king room on the second floor, nice view of the lake, 80 year old Arlene offered to help us take our luggage up the stairs! (we declined).
