We have stayed hear on several occasions. But this was the first time we stayed in a room directly overlooking the water. It was AMAZING. MORE than ocean view, it was OCEAN sound! My family and I enjoyed being lulled to sleep by the gorgeous sounds of Mother Nature rushing in the tide The breakfast is included and helps with the cost of vacationing. They offer coffee and tea free of charge throughout the evening in the lobby. The one downside was that the variety of tea wasn't as varied as in past years. It seems to have been an ordering oversight in a Resort that doesn't appear to mess up many things!

We stayed at the Sparhawk last week, in room 19. The room had not been renovated, but was large, clean and comfortable. The view from the balcony was outstanding. Right on the water, with a view of the coastline and Ogunquit beach.

The property is exquisitely maintained, with flowers and plantings everywhere. It is on 1 end of the Marginal Way, the pathway along the sea cliff to Perkins cove.

The staff was helpful and friendly. The only drawback (to us) was the continental breakfast. We preferred going into town. But in no way would that keep me from coming back.

Over the past 30 years of coming to Ogunquit we have stayed at a number of places including renting a house. Each place we stayed tended to reflect where we were in our lives. With kids, the Colonial Resort and the house fit the bill. Now, with no kids in tow, we keep coming back to the Sparhawk. For great ocean views, beautiful and well maintained grounds few places in the area can top it. The friendly, attentive staff is a plus. It is within easy walking distance of good restaurants, the beach, downtown and the Marginal Way. Highly recommended.

We love Ogunquit and travel there often, but this was our first stay at the Sparhawk. While there are other hotels/motels closer to the beach or to the down town area, in terms of amenities, comfort, service and value, the Sparhawk is hard to beat. Our rooms were somewhat outdated, however well maintained and clean. The air conditioners were not excessively noisy but noticeable mainly at night. The lawns and gardens were manicured and the ocean view absolutely spectacular. Overall, we spent a wonderful holiday. Will probably return.

Room Tip: Ocean front rooms are the best.

We stayed last week the rooms were newly renovated and beautifully done. I love the view off the front windows facing the deck so beautiful. We kept the door open all night to hear the ocean so peaceful. The staff are great and the breakfast is the best ever. This is my third stay here love this place. Everything is so close you can walk everywhere
