We visited OOB the middle of September and the beach and pier were still pretty busy given the lovely warm weather. We had planned on watching Sunday football with beer and wings at this sports bar. We arrived and happily ordered an ice cold bucket with 2 bottles of beer for under $4 and pursued the menu. While not exciting or imaginative they did have wings. We didn't find out until after the beer and a 10 minute wait that they had run out of wings! What? Sunday - wings - sport bar? I know they were busier than expected but the waitress said someone had 'bought them all'. Well someone from management should have sent a cook out to the nearest supermarket because they must have been missing sales from that alone. Otherwise an ok place to have an ice cold beer. We will try again next year.

Stopped here for breakfast before leaving Old Orchard Beach, based on recommendation from guy at our motel. Good decision! My daughter had the breakfast sandwich and says it is the best she's ever eaten. I had a delectable biscuits and gravy that rivaled what we do here in the South.

Busy little place. Menu has lots of pub style food, which you would expect. If you are looking for some baked options as opposed to fried, the regular menu has very little. On the night we visited, they had specials which included baked haddock so we ordered that and luckily got the last two they had. The fish was cooked well but had an overpowering spice medley and was served as stuffed haddock even though the description didn't read that it was stuffed. It also came with mashed potatoes but when they came, they were covered in beef gravy which, again, was not stated in the description. they did replace my potatoes and gravy with plain mashed potatoes which were barely lukewarm. The waitress was friendly and the service didn't take very long but as I described, the meal was a bit disappointing.

The Strike Zone is just what it sounds like......a sports bar. Good selection of beer, great location with free parking off season. Pub food is OK, but that's what you are there for....

We have been coming to the Strike Zone while on vacation in Old Orchard for at least 8 years. We always go for the all you can eat prime rib on Wednesdays and the all you can eat fried haddock on Fridays. We plan our entire vacation around those two meals and those are the only ones we eat out. We often come with party sizes of 10-14. We have a family of 6 and then my in laws, my brother and his family, and our friend's join us. Until this past week, they have always accommodated our large party with 3-4 checks. We often get split into 2-3 tables and it is usually 2 checks per table. Wednesday they said they could do a max of 3 checks (which was okay, but we really needed a fourth) and last night (Friday), they would not do separate checks at all if we were sitting together, so we broke our party into two groups and were able to get two checks. My in-laws wanted to go sit by themselves because they didn't have cash and didn't want to have anyone else pay for them. They had driven an hour and 20 minutes just to meet us there for dinner. We insisted that they sit with us and we covered their bill. They were so upset. This is hugely inconvenient when vacationing with extended family or dining with friends, especially if people don't know that they won't split checks. That is why I am writing this review. In the future, we will know to bring cash to ease splitting the bill, but having to split checks manually among large families and friends then worrying about whether good old uncle cheapskate or aunt penny pincher put in her share and enough for a decent tip is a huge pain. We always like to have our own bill for our family of 6 and ensure that we give the waitress at least 20-25% for a tip, we can't guarantee that our portion will be covered with a 20%+ tip when everyone is throwing money in. We also hate carrying around large amounts of cash and when you have to plan for 6 of your own immediate family, you need to bring lots of cash if you have to split checks at a restaurant. The food is great, but we felt unwelcome as a large group this past week and we are not sure what has prompted this new policy. We are not sure we will continue to come here in the future because of this.
