This place was cozy and all of the staff were exceptionally nice and very friendly and accommodating. I went on a bus trip and our rooms are already assigned when we arrive at any location. They had me and a friend next to each other on the first floor but unfortunately we never stay on first floors because of bad past experiences. When I asked if they had anything available on second floor (it only has 2 floors) we were immediately switched and they were so very nice about it and they even took our luggage up to rooms for us--they could not have been any nicer about what I consider an inconvenience to them. Hotel is a little dated but everything was very clean and like I said "cozy".. Yes the shower area is small but did not bother me at all. I would recommend this place and would definitely stay here again.

Room tip: Second floor has wonderful view.

Yes it is older. OOB is not Myrtle Beach and you should already know that. Quaint, lovely spot. I found the bed to be very comfortable and slept well. There was noise but everything seemed to hush around 11 pm. I liked the fact that guests were outside their rooms enjoying the warm weather and conversation. Little over priced for what you got. I am not a shower person so lack of a tub was iffy. But there was lots of hot water for a nice shower. Staff were very helpful in suggesting a place to eat. That is a separate review :)

We reserved and stayed here right after Labor Day and we were very happy with the accommodations. We enjoyed the fairly new saltwater swimming pool and were steps from the ocean. It was a mile walk to the pier, so we walked the beach to get there every day.

The only thing that was lacking was information. There was a book in the room, but it was very disorganized with pages torn out. We were really left to our own devices when trying to find places to eat and places to find lobster and produce.

Room tip: Reservations are made by phone, hotel books a year in advance.

The Friendship is a very old hotel with Beach charm. The rooms are in bad need of renovation. It is right on the beach and has a great pool with plenty of seating. The location and staff are wonderful. I was uncomfortable in the room and refused to walk on the indoor/outdoor carpet in bare feet. The mattress was completely covered in plastic, then another protector on top of the plastic, it was lumpy and uncomfortable. Eventhough the room appeared to be clean, it is so old, I wasn't sure it was. A large person would not be able to take a shower, it is very small and there is no sink in the bathroom. The room is overpriced for what is offered. This is an old area of town, perhaps all the hotels in this area are in the same state. Eventhough I had a wonderful time in OOB with my husband, I would not recommend or stay at The Friendship again. Sorry

Room tip: All rooms have good access to the beach and pool area.

Don't expect a 5 star hotel...
This motel is just on the beach. We were on the first floor in front of the see with just the pool in between...

The bathroom is old and from poor quality, the bed not so comfortable. Not the dream place for the travelers who are used to use hotels. But the staff is helpful.
