We came with friends for the weekend; we were in the inn, while they were in the annex.

Our room was comfortable, with good bed, chairs, and lighting. They seemed happy with the view of the pond. The lobby area is a comfortable, old-fashioned hotel kind of place, which we enjoyed.

We tried the bar, but didn’t have any food, so can’t comment on that. The breakfast was disappointing.

We’ll return because we like the hotel, but will walk down the street for breakfast.

We're glad to hear that you liked your accommodations and that you will return! However, we would love to know what we can do to improve on your breakfast experience - that way you won't have to go down the street. Please feel free to send us a message at info@therangeleyinn.com with any suggestions for improvement. Thank you!

I spent two nights here while i was in the area attending my daughter’s ski race. I had hoped to find something closer to sugarloaf but everything was booked so I ended up at the Rangeley 35 mins away. What a wonderful result. The inn was charming, rooms comfortable, staff friendly and breakfast buffet a quick and tasty way to start the day. I definitely recommend and hope to come back during the summer months to check out the lakes.

Searching for a hotel in off season in winter was quite difficult, but thankfully we were able to find a good deal at this charming hotel. It felt as if we were staying in a large southern plantation house. The breakfast was a delight!

My coworkers arrived at the Rangeley Inn after a long day of travel. The staff was friendly and made us welcome right away. The rooms were large and nicely decorated. The breakfast is as outstanding. We would stay again.

Very neat property set between Main Street and Haley Pond, comprised of the impressive original inn, generous parking, sweeping lawns and a more modern, motel-like unit albeit decorated with plants in borders and beds sheltering behind it, overlooking the Pond.

Check-in: speedy and friendly. All efforts were made to accommodate our preferences.

Room 105 in the annex: somewhat smaller than expected and a tad brown, with the bed taking up most of the room. It comes with a coffee maker (bring bottled water as the tap water tastes vile) but no tea; a fridge; air conditioning (loud); two arm chairs; as well as a bijou bathroom (with hairdryer but rather weak water pressure). There’s a pleasant, private covered deck with two chairs and a low table overlooking the Pond one side and a large parking on the other. You can hear muffled road noise (which abates at night) but much less than you do in the inn.

Sleep: very good once we turned off the loud air conditioning as the bed was huge, comfortable and unprotesting. It was lovely to hear the loons (and other birds) calling as we dropped off to sleep.

Amenities: fast and free wifi; complimentary kayaks and canoes provided for guests to use on Haley Pond; atmospheric bar and lounge for food and drink (you can also sip drinks on the covered porch and watch the world go by).

Breakfast: included in room price and served from 7.00 till 10.00 in the impressive, high ceilinged dining room. It offers up a limited selection of fresh fruit, granola, waffles, bagels and scrambled eggs. Not particularly refined, but will keep you going for the day.

Verdict: great place to stop if you’re in transit, but an even greater place to stop for longer as there seems to be plenty to do in the area (wish we’d stayed longer).

Tip: opt for the annex if you want more privacy/good sleep, you can always imbibe the atmosphere of the inn over lunch, dinner or drinks.
