If there is any wine place anywhere on earth better than this place than I would love to see it. My butler told me about this establishment when he was waxing my Lamborghini. Lyle Lovett was performing the night we decided to try their fine wine and absolutely loved it. The crowd was going crazy when Mr Lovett finally staggered out on stage carrying a bottle of wine and no shirt on. The groupies were cheering and a mosh pit formed at the front of the stage. The trumpet players were incredible. The bassist looked like he got fired from a strip club but he kept time like a champ. The best part of the night was when they had the wine chugging contest onstage that Lyle himself participated. A practical joker switched the wine with grain alcohol and all hell broke loose. Before all the ambulances showed up and started pumping people's stomaches. Lyle played a couple more songs before falling off the stage and puking all over himself. This was the best concert I have ever been to. The wine is great. The grain alcohol was just the right combo to make this music sound pleasant

Come meet the cows, admire the renovated barn, walk the fabulous stone wall... and oh yes, there's wine! A bit of construction marred the tasting room on our visit but no worries, our host was pleasant and we enjoyed the tasting enough to come home with a few bottles. Blueberry, of course. It is Maine.... right?

While not a fancy winery, this little place has nice wines and staff. The place is a post and beam barn office construction. The 3 dollar charge for 6 wines is very , very reasonable. They have several gift items as well. Not too hard to find.

Beautiful location. The Tasting Room is quaint with a nice atmosphere. They have a great selection of wines with most of the grapes grown on site. Guests are encouraged to view the vineyards. Our hostess was wonderful...very mellow, friendly and knowledgable. Not a bad wine in the bunch. We selected a few bottles to take home and a few gift items. Prices are reasonable.

We were in the Union area after returning for Owl's Head lighthouse and read about Savage Oaks Winery on the internet. We decided to stop and what a little jewel this winery is. They offer several different wine varieties made from their grapes and other local products. We enjoyed a free wine tasting and decided to take a couple of bottles of blueberry wine home with us. The young man that was attending the store was very knowledgeable and friendly. They also offer some great concerts this summer on their property including Graham Nash and Lyle Lovett. If you are traveling in the area you should stop and visit this winery treasure tucked into the countryside of rural Maine.
