We love coming up to Maine and staying at the Sea Mist. Located off route 1 and close to everything. The rooms are clean and well kept. Office staff are stellar and always accommodating. Maintenance crew keeps up on facility. Indoor pool and hot tub are clean and maintained well. We come here several times per year and love it!

The website says this hotel is walking distance to the beach, but it really isn't. It is centrally located right on Route 1, but you either need to take the trolley or pay to park at the beaches ($25/day usually). The hotel seems older, and tired, but is affordable and clean. We enjoyed our stay, but I don't know if I'd go back.

We had a couple of friends suggest this hotel when we wanted to do a quick mini vacation. We got the last room available for 4 people and it was perfect for what we needed. It was small but worked. Kids slept on the pull out sofa. We had to move some things to get the bed out but it all worked. It had a mini kitchen with a sink, fridge and micro wave. It came with dishes etc. No stove but we weren't cooking. Very clean. Staff was friendly. Not on the water but easy access by car or trolley. Nice pool and hot tub.

Stayed in #214 at beginning of August and loved it. We have been coming for years and like the amenities and location near our favorite places--beaches, shopping, and eating lobster! The pool and jacuzzi are great. The kitchenette is good for having breakfast before going out for the day. The personnel in the office were helpful and friendly as usual. This is our home away from home.

Room Tip: 2nd floor on south side is most quiet.

We stayed at this resort 2 years ago and had little children above us. This year I requested the second floor and they honored my request. Our vacation was so much more enjoyable. I do quite a bit of traveling with RCI and this is the first resort that I stayed at that changes towels and trash daily. It is certainly a perk!

Room Tip: The rooms are small but very nice. Would ask for the second floor.

We arrived after a 10 hour travel day to a sign on the door saying had to step out. We only waited about 10 minutes and were able to check in quickly. We were in a room with 2 queen beds. Very small with no sitting area. It was fairly clean and the beds had memory foam toppers which made them ok. We switched and paid $20 a day more to get a 1 bedroom unit. There are only 2. It's an old house divided into 2 units beside the highway..so noisy unless you use the air con to block it out. The unit, 135, was filthy and extremely dated. There was not a thing in the unit that was not stained. The couch cushions, blankets, mattress covers, bed spread, drapes. It was the single most filthy room I have ever stayed in. The carpet was so dirty cleaning would never save it. We put towels down to walk on. The pull out couch mattress was impossible to sleep on it was so bad. The bedroom mattress was no better. The heat register in the bathroom desperately needs paint..not a big deal, but when you look at the hair (not my color) and dirt sitting on in it every day its hard not to notice. We never cooked even know it had a stove and fridge because of the filth. There was a daily spruce up ha ha.
There is something living above the ceiling as we heard it scurrying around. It was not a small animal.
The pool was nice. The BBQ's were not something you would want to cook on but we did smores one night.
I think you get coffee each day. We got it once, went to the office to get it the next, then gave up. There was no shampoo which was not cool after a 10 hour travel day. Why not supply at least 1?
On the positive the towel bar was broken and was fixed without us asking and the maintenance man was very nice and tried to see if there were any beach chairs around when I asked if they loan them. There weren't.
Over all a very poor experience.
I think this motel would be ok for just 2 in a room who are on a budget with low standards and expectations.

Room Tip: a room at another hotel would probably be best.
