Not much to see here if you live on the shore, just more marsh and birds and marsh and birds...

We come here several times a year. Each time there are different birds and waterfoul. This trip there were way too many Canada Geese. Also plentyful were Bald Eagles. If you want to see and photograph Bald Eagles, this is the time of the year to come here. We also were able to see White Pelicans, Pintail Ducks and Northern Shovelers (ducks). The wildlife drive is undergoing some construction so you have to be picky when you come because they do close off some of it while the work in underway. we were there early enough in the day that it did not effect us. Love this place for the photographic opportunities. There is a small entrance fee ($3.00), however, it is usualy waived during the construction.

This place is a great place to see the sunset in winter and we often try to time it that way. The Old Salty's restaurant out on the island (Hoopers) is in an old school building, is right on the waterfront, and looks out across to the Western Shore. Besides the natural beauty of the area we love the food at Salty's. This place is a good piece of driving from our house but is always worth the drive.

Lovely saltwater marsh with well defined trails, restrooms and good handouts.
