We had a third floor suite with bath and bedroom in the Blue Max Inn set deep into Chesapeake City's quaint streets and homes. The room was spacious and comfortable and the bed was very good - its firmness just right. Although we arrived late the thoughtful innkeeper left our key and instructions as to how to get to our room at the front door.
Breakfast was delicious. Crepes and eggs benedict were delicious and filling. While I like my coffee stronger than that provided. we found the staff to be affable and helpful.
If you want to be in an old town built around an inlet of the Chesapeake Bay, this community is for you. Well maintained with interesting shops and restaurants, Chesapeake City is an off the beaten path discovery that will interest travelers. The Blue Max is a great destination for those who love BnB's that have their own style and are a throwback to the service and friendliness that chain hotels have lost.

Room Tip: Rooms with bath down the hall are not quite so private and enticing as those with baths connected directly to your bedroom.

We stayed three days at The Blue Max. It is right downtown in Chesapeake City. It is peaceful and beautiful; we spent hours just sitting on the rocking chairs on the porch and reading. When we were tired of that, it was just a short walk (literally 2-3 blocks) to a restaurant or bakery.

The breakfasts were large and filling, not to mention delicious. We had a delightful time.

I recently had the pleasure of staying at the Blue Max Inn with my sisters from Boston over the weekend of my daughter’s wedding. The rooms at the Blue Max are a delight; clean, comfortable, and beautifully decorated. The breakfasts were YUM. Christine and her staff were stellar. From check-in to check -out our stay was perfect. Highly recommend.

My husband and I have stayed at The Blue Max three times, and each time we were delighted. Our room (Herman) is beautifully decorated, private, and so comfortable. It was always ready for us upon arrival, and the Innkeeper, Christine Mullin (with the help of a friendly and efficient staff) goes far beyond expectations to make our stay comfortable and relaxed. Her breakfast is wonderful - eggs, bacon or sausage, fresh fruit, muffins, juices, delicious coffee or tea - yum!
The rates are reasonable as is the cancellation policy, and everything is spelled out clearly on the website.
The Inn is situated on a corner of a quiet, charming tree-lined street. Quaint shops and several excellent restaurants are nearby - we love the Bayard House for lunch or dinner. It's easy to walk all over town from The Blue Max, or just sit on the lovely front porch and sip Christine's afternoon tea.
There are several B&Bs in town, but The Blue Max has customers for life in us. There's no reason to go anywhere else!

Room Tip: Every room is perfect!
