We stayed at Cherry Hill Park for three days during the summer. The campground is absolutely HUGE. There were plenty of great amenities, and the staff was wonderful.

My kids really enjoyed the swimming pools, which were a bit above average for a campground. The week we were there the place was sold out. In fact, we tried to book and there were no spots available. We asked to be put on the waiting list, and the staff called us a week out from our trip to offer us a space.

I can't say enough about how great the staff was. They went out of their way to make sure we knew how to get where we were going.

There is a Metro stop very nearby. We chose to drive over because there were so many people in the park that week. A few stops later and you're in DC.

The park is not very woodsy. Each site is basically a big gravel area, but the sections are split up by small patches of trees.

The only negative was the mini-golf. It's advertised online, but it's kind of a joke. Other than that, the place was great.

We stayed at Cherry Hill for 5 days. They made everything so convenient. We parked on Sunday and didn't move our car again until we left. The bus to the Metro stops in the campground. (Tokens and metro passes available for sale on site!) They have tours that also leave right from the campground - again so convenient!
The staff was incredibly friendly and very helpful getting you the information/directions. The bathrooms were very clean at all times. There were some large tour groups camping in the group sites so this was no easy feat! The little cafe was inexpensive and quick.

Just returned to little 60 site campground in Maine after a week at Cherry Hill. I have to admit we were a bit skeptical when we booked due to the size and hot travel time (June 26-July3) but I have to say we were planning our return trip for next year as we pulled out of the driveway to come home. The size of the place can be overwhelming but I never felt like the facillities were overy crowded. The pool areas and community area were well maintained. My kids enjoyed the outdoor movies and arcade. The staff were knowledgable and helpful without exception. We chose to drive to the College Park metro station for our excurions into DC. A short 5 minute drive and at $4.25 a day, cheaper and more convenient that taking the bus from Cherry Hill. That being said, having the bus is very easy and convenient for those without cars. A great place and one we will return to often.

My husband and I and our 9 year old grandson just got back from a week in Washington DC. We wanted to travel in our motorhome and Cherry Hill RV Park was advertized and recommended in our Military Travel Book. It is the closest RV Park to Washington DC. You don't even have to have a motorhome, as small cottages are also available to rent. Cherry HIll has two swimming pools, miniature golf, a conference center, snack bar/restaurant, laundromat, and a great gift shop and RV store. They even have a dog walking service if you decide to bring your pooch, and their rates are comparable with other campgrounds farther out from DC.

The staff was extremely friendly and helpful. They made visiting Washington DC very easy and enjoyable. Everything you need to travel back and forth into the city is available for purchase in the office. The Metro Bus, which takes you to the train station, stops right inside the RV park, and tokens are available for purchase at the registration desk, as well as train tickets and tour bus tickets. You don't want to drive into the city if you can avoid it. Traffic is horrendous and parking is at a premium, so public transportation is the way to go.

So if you're planning on visiting Washington DC, consider staying at Cherry Hill Park Campground and check out their website at www.cherryhillpark.com. I highly recommend it!
