Overall, the food and the service was very good for a recent Sunday early evening visit at this particular Olive Garden. Even though we were told that it would be a 10-15 minute wait, our party of four was seated in less time than that.
For those who have eaten at Olive Garden over the years, there are not really any surprises with the basic menu selection. It is nice that they have an ample vegetarian selection of dishes as well as gluten free options. This was our first visit to this particular Olive Garden and we were quite satisfied with the dining experience.
We found the portion sizes to be on the large side, so getting a bowl of their top notch minestrone soup as a starter, along with a breadstick or two had us taking half of the main courses - Chicken Piccata and Ravioli di Portobello - home in a takeaway carton. Those dishes were as equally tasty the next evening after being reheated in the microwave.
At the time of our visit, the restaurant was also offering a choice of one of three main entrees as a takeaway only option for five dollars, so we availed ourselves of the Five Cheeses Ziti option. That proved to be rather tasty over the next few days as well.
One caveat worth mentioning is that the triple cannoli does not hold up well as a takeaway. While the strawberry, vanilla and chocolate creme fillings are extremely delicious, the shell tends to get rather soggy, which diminishes the overall pleasure in eating the confection.
