About 25 of my high school classmates stayed at The Grand Hotel for a 3-day weekend last September (2011). Our Sales Director, Robin Latinville, was wonderful to work with in meeting our needs for the weekend. The rooms are gorgeous and the overall service was great. The only negative of our weekend was in trying to get service for breakfast one morning - there was not enough waiters/waitresses for the number of people wanting breakfast - our group left.

Room tip: All rooms were very nice!

My husband and I just stayed at the Grand Hotel this past weekend for Springfest and also to celebrate his birthday. We stay here often, several times a year, and once again had a fabulous experience. The hotel is so conveniently located, rooms are spacious and clean with fabulous views of the beach, great lobby area and coffee shop. The hotel staff is extremely friendly from the moment you call to make a reservation, during your stay, until the time you check out. The entire staff is always great to deal with, however, during this particular visit, Fay at the front desk went above and beyond to make our stay extra special. She was extremely friendly and accommodating. It was so nice to meet someone who really enjoys their job and does it well!!! When we checked out, Fay had a birthday card from the hotel and a piece of cake for my husband. Her kindness and thoughtfulness speaks volumes for the type of service you'll receive. The Grand is fortunate to have an employee as fantastic as she! You will enjoy staying here - and if you're lucky, Fay will greet you when you arrive.

Room tip: The Grand offers great packages that are worth exploring. Great prices.

The hotel staff ( Front desk staff specifically) did a great job with accomadating us at the last minute on a weekend without even a reservation. Our room featured an ocean front view which was much more than we expected. This was a super overall stay and we plan on doing it again this Summer.

Just got back from Ocean City for Springfest and this is my 2nd stay here at the Grand Hotel. Has a nice coffee/donut shop downstairs, bar/lounge, indoor and outdoor pool, smaller fitness area and it does have an arcade with a few games, 1 pinball machine and a pool table in which we couldn't find the pool sticks for but was ok. Clean place. Not 5 star top quality if thats what you must have but really not a bad place at all. Fresh towels, small fridge with coffee pot and counter area with sink in the rooms. Bathroom was clean. Nice and friendly staff behind the desk. Will definitely stay here again. Thanks for another nice trip!

My wife and I have stayed at the Grand almost every time we've gone to Ocean City (anywhere from 2-4 times a year for long weekends) for the past several years.

Located at 21st and Boardwalk, the Grand is unusual for a beach hotel in its sheer size. It boasts a very large lobby and ground floor with several beach-type retail shops, a pizza place, and a 24 hour coffee shop. The lobby exits directly onto the Boardwalk, as well, which is extremely convenient. Only a few blocks from the north end of the Boardwalk, it's also quiet. The parties and crowds happen further south, but it's an easy walk to get there.

The hotel is an ocean-facing semi-circle and all the rooms have balconies with ocean views, although the closer to the middle you are, the better. The rooms themselves are above-average for a beach hotel and feature microwaves and mini-fridges. The beds are comfortable and they give you plenty of pillows. The television is basic and does not feature any on-demand programming, which would be a nice addition. There's also no room service - again, not uncommon for these beach hotels in Ocean City.

The only significant complaint I have about the rooms is that the sliding glass doors onto the balconies, while large enough to provide great views, are often covered by a salty film that results from condensation between the glass. There's no way to clean this, but it definitely detracts from the overall experience when you can't see the view you paid for without going outside. Some of the rooms are better than others and the last time we had a really bad one, they moved us without a problem.

Otherwise, the only other complaint I've ever had there are that they frequently host large events in their ballroom and if you're actually staying on that floor, it can get noisy. Ice machines and soda/snack vending machines are on alternate floors, so you may have to take an elevator to get ice, but again, many smaller beach hotels may only have one ice machine in the lobby, so that's really not a big deal.

If you're looking for a great place to stay on the Boardwalk, but not expecting a five star resort hotel, the Grand is excellent. It's definitely one of my top choices in Ocean City.

Room tip: For the best ocean view, the middle of any floor is the best (it's a big semi-circle). Pay for the "premier ocean front" room for something in the middle 1/3, and ask for something NOT on the floor with the ballroom.

I'm happy to inform you that we now have brand new 32" LCD flat screens in our King Jacuzzi and Direct Oceanfront Signature Service rooms. Room service will also be available in the near future and we are working towards replacing the sliding glass doors in all of our rooms.
