This was our 3rd trip to O.C., MD and our first time at the Spinnaker Motel. I chose this property based on the reviews that I read and I was pleasantly surprised that we enjoyed our stay.

We got a corner room on the fourth floor (410) with view of the beach/ocean and boardwalk which was what we initially wanted. The staff at the front desk is friendly and very accommodating; the reservationist that I spoke with for this property was very courteous and extremely helpful in securing a good room for us.

The efficiency room is a plus and the size of the sleeping area was perfect for two people. The toilet broke on our 3rd day there and when I called the front desk they sent maintenance up immediately who repaired the unit within minutes. The room is kept very clean. The carpet is vacuumed daily and the floors are mopped daily. We had to clean our own dishes but that was no bother to us. The only negative and it's a small negative, the room smelled like bleach when we first came in but that is because the rooms are cleaned thoroughly, also the elevator is quite small, but not a long wait to get one. The free Wifi worked just fine. We will definitely be staying at this property on our next visit.

Room Tip: Ask for room 410, it's a corner room with balcony view of beach/ocean and boardwalk

We just returned from a last minute stay at the Spinnaker Motel and it more than met our needs and exceeded our expectations. While the building and interiors seen a little aged, the room was clean, close to the boardwalk and had a decent view of the ocean. It was lovely to wake up and watch the sunrise. Front desk staff were very friendly, from Donald who check us in to the lovely ladies that checked us out. Friendly cleaning staff as well.

The room is small with a kitchenette, coffee maker, toaster and utensils. We had 2 double beds and a pull out sofa. There is a divider you can close between the beds and the sofa. The bathroom is small as well. Some metal fixtures were a little rusted, there was a little hole in the bathroom wall and the remote control for the air conditioner was broken, small details that really did not affect our stay and are most likely the result of age. The hotel could easily get an excellent rating from us with a few updates to the décor but looking at many of the hotels along the boardwalk that is probably true of a lot of them.

There is a pool on the second level that seems fine although we did not use it, not with the Atlantic Ocean calling!

Finally, we did get breakfast to take back to our room from the attached restaurant Malia's. Reasonably priced, we got a short stack of pancakes with bacon, a breakfast sandwich and a toasted English Muffin for less than $20.00. There was a bit of a wait, they seem extremely busy at breakfast. And again, the staff was quite friendly. A warning, though...they only serve breakfast and lunch so be prepared to eat dinner elsewhere.

All in all, an enjoyable stay and we would be happy to return.

Room Tip: Room 418 was close to the beach end of the hotel, view was slightly obstructed but we could still view the sunrise.

Bed you sink in, and a balcony that looks out to the beach in the morning. What more can you ask for? Not to mention that you are walking distance to all you could want to do on the island, if you need to drive Rt 50 and 90 are just blocks away. For the price you cannot beat the views and the accommodations. We will be back for sure

This is my second stay at the Spinnaker and once again the price and location are excellent deals. This time I had a slight issue with housekeeping but I spoke to the front office and they went above and beyond making sure the issue was given priority attention. This posting is to give a special thank you to the front desk staff and the on duty manager (stayed August 14-17) to let them know I appreciate their help in resolving the matter.

The Spinnaker is an older hotel - classic OC. It is half the price of alot of the newer hotels nearby like the Grand, the Holiday Inn, and the Marriott. It is a bit dated and worn, but clean and the rooms can sleep six if you are pinched. The staff is really friendly. The pool is ok. Lots of folks come here year after year!
