“Per the Desk Clerk, MD is being invaded by stint bugs!”
2 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 12 October 2010

My family and my two sisters and their spouses wanted to go to the opening of the Hollywood Casino in Perryville, Maryland the first weekend in October 2010. We wanted a decent hotel, close by if we could. To check things out, we called around and the receptionist at the front desk of the Ramada Inn said it was one of the older hotels, but that they did everything they could to ensure the rooms were well kept. Because it was an older hotel, the ladies decided to visit the area about 2 or 3 weeks ahead of time to ensure it was a place we could stay, or determine if we needed to stay someplace else----a five hour drive. We visited the Ramada Inn, was shown a room, and it looked fine. We made reservations. Upon arrival at the Ramada on October 2nd, we were OK with the rooms we were given. After visiting the casino, we came back to the room later that night. After being in the room for a little while though, we saw a roach on the nightstand. When we tried to kill it, it ran into the clock. My husband took the clock down to the office and told them about the roach and that we didn't need the clock. One of my sisters and her husband had to be moved to another room because they killed over 20 bugs that night!!. I didn't know this at the time, but I would have let eveybody know that we needed to leave if we had seen one more bug. When my sister went to the office to let them know about the bugs, they said there was nothing they could do because Maryland was being invaded by stink bugs. Although they said they didn't have any other rooms, they eventually moved them to the second floor where they didn't see any more bugs in the room. When we visited earlier, why didn't they tell us that they were being invaded by stint bugs (and a roache) and we could have gone somewhere else! The rooms were OK AND CLEAN LOOKING, AND THE STAFF WAS FRIENDLY ENOUGH, BUT THEY HAVE BUGS!! Needless to say, we will not be visiting this hotel ever again.

These insects are a non-native species and have been affecting the whole region. We have a regular pest elimination program in place at our hotel and the pest elimination company has been working on a program since they became an issue. Guest safety and comfort are our number one priority and we were happy to have found another room for the guest.

We hadn't made a reservation for the last night of our trip and turned off the Perryville exit from I95. It was a nice surprise to find this Ramada affordable. The desk staff greeted us like they were really pleased to see us and were very gracious. Our room was on the ground floor making it super easy to unload/reload the car without having to lug everything through a lobby or up stairs. Room was clean, attractive and comfortable. Beds had lots of pillows. There were all the usual amenities including microwave, fridge, iron, hair dryer, free internet. The truck stop next door did not disturb us and the room was very quiet -- unlike inside rooms where people talk in hallways outside your door. The only 'negative' which is common to just about every motel I've ever stayed in is a scarcity of electrical outlets. Now that people travel with phones, laptops, ipods, cameras and other things that need to be plugged in, I wish motels would beef up the number of outlets so you don't have to unplug the lights and clock to plug in chargers. Again, this is nearly all motels, not just this one.

We had some car trouble on I-95 and decided to stop for the night unexpectedly. I wanted to press on because I thought all the hotels along 95 and 40 would be awful. We were pleasantly surprised by the Ramada Perryville. The lady at the front desk was incredibly nice, the rate was excellent, the rooms were spotless and they threw in a free breakfast for all four of us. It was a little tight with double beds instead of queens but other than that it was just right.

Stayed at this Ramada during the week while on business. Very suprised to find how clean the room was. Probably the cleanest bathroom I've seen of late. Spotless!!! Rate was $75/night via all the travel sites. Just off 95. Near a Truck Stop, so ask to stay on the "quiet side" of the property. Allows pets, but as I said, the rooms a very clean. DENNY's is located next door for something to eat. Went to dinner at a "local" spot called "PIER 1 RESTAURANT" in a town called, "NORTHEAST, MD" just a short drive away. Very good food, reasonably priced. Casual.

My wife and I stayed for a week (6 nights) to visit relatives in the area. We were both a little skeptical of the location when we drove up. The hotel is near I-95 and next to a truck stop. However, we had a great week! The staff were friendly, the breakfast bar was clean and well-stocked, and the room was clean. There was also a small library on the second floor which added a nice touch. Best of all, it was actually quiet, in spite of the location. We will be staying again next year.

We were taking a long road trip to NC from NJ and need to take a stop for the night after suffering two hours traffic at Delaware. The hotel was good for the price. The desk attendant was nice to tell us that the hotel was under construction and it is a truck stop. That did not bother us since we are ready to get rest and left early. The room was very clean and comes with refrigirator. That was nice! The room is standard and breakfast item very good. I would recommend for a neccessary stop on the road but not for a long stay!

Clean rooms with average amenities. The furniture and bedspreads are definitely dated. They need replacing. Good breakfast. Helpful staff.
