My husband and I stayed here for four nights in a pop-up trailer with our two dogs. We had a lovely campsite within easy walking distance of the bathing facilities. The bathrooms were always clean. The camp store was great, as we only had a cooler (no fridge) so ice was a daily purchase. They had good hot coffee in the mornings, which was a lifesaver since someone forgot to pack the coffee. We left a day early (due to a sick dog) and the staff were understanding and made sure we weren't leaving early because of the campgrounds.

My four children and I stayed for a month here. My husband would join us on weekends. The sites are private and spacious. The kids loved bike riding, mini golf and the playgrounds. We also enjoyed the lake. While others complained about quiet hours we found the rules were very clearly stated. Our site was right near both owners. Some nights we were a little loud and we NEVER had trouble. If people are complaining they were getting in trouble then trust me they were obnoxious and loud. The restrooms were always clean. The toilet paper is standard camping paper. Not a problem. The owners are friendly and caring about their patrons.

We were ten minutes from the bay beaches and 5 minutes from Long Pond. There was easy access to the bike paths. We have all ready booked another month here and are trying to book early enough to book two months straight. Waiting eagerly to become a seasonal.

This is by far one of our most favorite campgrounds. It is peaceful and relaxing.

Our site was of a good size very private and very quiet, over all we had a good weekend and we would go back again.

Our only concern was that the bathroom was closed for cleaning every night at 10 pm and two nights in a row we had to wait 20 minutes to use it and many other had to do the same, it is a busy period as every one goes to the bathroom before going to bed, on the second night i was waiting to take my shower and had to leave before my turn came because someone came for the cleaning. we did not want to walk in the dark in an unknown region of the campground to find Another bathroom, the cleaning could be done later or earlyer in the day.

Just came back from 3-night camping trip to Sweetwater Forest with a large group of friends, we were all families with kids. Overall it was fun, however.... Website leads you to believe that you have a pond to swim in - WRONG! You can fish there but there is no swimming anywhere at the campground! Also, the playgrounds could use some updates and the management should invest in some sort of lighting for the paths after dark - it is pitch black there and creepy, if you have to walk to the bathrooms! And for us the biggest disadvantage - quiet time at 9 pm???? Really??? We're on vacation and can't even talk by the campfire, let alone play a guitar and have some fun! We had several visits to our sites from the management to keep us quiet, kids were stressed and eventually grew afraid of the golf cart guy! Note to the owner - if you're that strict about it - post it on your website or let people know about this policy when taking a reservation for a large group - we would have never come...

Sweetwater_Forest, Owner at Sweetwater Forest Campground, responded to this reviewResponded April 24, 2015

The complaints from the other campers about this group, the writer of the complaint who stated they visited our web site, seems to have missed the page of our Camp Rules which clearly state Camp Policies, which include Quiet Hours.
We also do not in any way say that our lake is for swimming, nor are any photos of swimmers in our lake on our website. Two of Brewster's 9 town operated beaches are on fresh water lakes less than a quarter of a mile from Sweetwater Forest. Rather than spend funds on another freshwater beach, funds are more suitably spent on improving & updating camping amenities & services.

We have stayed at many campgrounds across America over the years, but we have never found any that exceeds Sweetwater Forest in its serenity, comfort, cleanliness, and friendliness. Unlike so many others, its campsites are well spaced in natural surroundings, not succumbing to the mindless "herring-bone" pattern that may bring in more money but exclude privacy. Activities for the family include mini-golf, fishing, basketball, nightly hay rides, and a visit to the kiddies' playgrounds. The staff is always there to help in any way they can, responding to almost any situation immediately. We hope to return for many years to come.
