We really enjoyed our visit. As others have mentioned the menu is certainly eclectic with chicken and tacos and burritos, but then a fairly sizable seafood menu. I had the fisherman's stew which was really fantastic and my wife had a scallop fish that she loved. I knock off just a touch for the kids menu because at 7 dollars i would have thought the kiddo would get at least another side with his cheese quesadilla. Overall though we walked away happy.

An interesting restaurant. Decoration seems a mix of a traditional 'family' restaurant with some Latin touches. Drinks seemed large. Food excellently prepared and beautifully presented. Some Latino options. Not likely to return because of the atmosphere.

Our review is somewhere between 2 and 3, but we rounded down with the weighting on the food itself. The Island Blue Crab was a disappointing experience.

We selected it primarily from the solid reviews, with only a glance at the menu. It was apparent from some of the local comments that this was previously a Mexican restaurant, and it had been transformed. Unfortunately, we found that the new place had no real identity; there are Italian dishes, Mexican (Tex-Mex) offerings, and some other random items sprinkled on the menu such as burgers.

We had a coconut shrimp appetizer, which was fried to a milk chocolate color and definitely over-cooked. The underlying flavors were ok, but the flavor of burnt coconut was not part of our plan. Based on the knowledge that the restaurant had previously been a Mexican restaurant, we elected to go with a safe fajita choice. The ingredients were appropriate, but the peppers, onions, chicken, and shrimp were evidently sauteed instead of grilled. The flavor was bland.

The other reviews feel like they are basing their experience on any ability to get away from fried seafood in the area. Possibly we hit a bad night when the main chef was off; it was a Monday.

The service was fine, and the local craft beer was good, but the primary reason we go to a restaurant was to eat well prepared food.

We ordered oyster burger, lobster bisque, and fish tacos, all of which were perfectly prepared and absolutely delicious. Great atmosphere and easy location on Cape Cod.

This hidden gem never fails to surprise. After two straight days of cycling, this is where we refueled!

Our meals were outstanding. We started with tuna tartar and a kale salad. No words for the tuna! If you like tuna, just order it and trust us. The kale was also delish but super spicy. Almost too spicy but we still liked it.

Dinner included pork carnitas and blackened salmon. Both were outstanding. The menu is interesting because it’s an eclectic mix of American and Mexican food, with many seafood options. The fish came with a tropical salsa and coconut ride (wowza) and the carnitas could easily be shared as the portion was huge!

We loved our waitress and the rest of the wait staff but the owner or manager, (not sure what her role is) can be defensive and argumentative. If you request something or make a change, she doesn’t go with the flow.... a reminder to her - the customer is always right!

Go to The Island Blue Crab! You can eat inside or out and I promise you - you will not be disappointed. *Side note - it’s a very casual place, they don’t take a res, but we were quickly seated and the service was great.
