This little cottage was adorable and the location was perfect for a short walk to the beach. It is small and the sleeping areas have no privacy but we knew that going in so it wasn't a big deal. You can walk out back to the small deck which has a gorgeous view of the marshes, or walk out front, cross the street and you only pass 2 houses to get to the beach. There isn't a ton of tourist stuff super close by but definitely bring your bikes and ride up to the Cafe 6A for breakfast. My few "complaints" would be that there are small ants in the cottage, it wasn't as clean as I would have liked (you clean before you check out and then they send someone to check it- shower had some mildew and shower caddy was rusty), and the listing says there are games in the cottage so we didn't bring any. Unfortunately the games are probably 30 years old and not really kid friendly. The tv remote was also dead which wouldn't be a big deal but the first evening it stormed hard and we had nothing to do. All in all, petty complaints but I think if the owners did a few minor replacements this review would be 100% in their favor and it would be just that much more enjoyable. I'd definitely recommend to a friend.
Don't think twice about the size of this adorable house! It's definitely enough room for a beach vacation, especially when you'll spend most of your time on the beach & in the backyard. Everything you could need is there. Maybe just bring an extra fan for the hot days, but when you open the windows, the Cape Cod breeze does the trick!
As long-time renters of Beachland 5, we have nick-named the cottage "The Love Shack". This is because the bed is so comfy and we sleep so well there. By the end of the week, we are thoroughly relaxed and wish we could stay longer. The Retro cottage was built in the 1930's, but has been totally up-dated with all the modern conveniences. The views from the deck are breath-taking and some days we just read on the deck and walk along the marsh to the beach. The ocean is across the street so you are on the beach or sitting on a sand bar in minutes. The cottage is neat and clean and fully equipped. There is a micro- and 3-burner stove but no oven, which is fine. No need to bake on Vacay!
Stayed at this adorable cottage with friends from NYC last summer. From the cute beachy furnishings to the close proximity to the beach (right across the street!), we just loved it!
Highlights included cooking our own lobsters from Salty Lou's (affordable and right up the road), walking on the sandbars along the beach (never seen so many!), and catching marsh view sunsets off the back porch.
This is the perfect little place to relax away from the city with friends and family! We'll be back again this year.
This cute little cottage is steps away from the beach - it looks out on a lovely marsh and has everything you could want! Shower water pressure is the best! Cute kitchen, back deck, and lovely old timber moldings give it a unique classic feel. The crab-shaped TV was a hit with the kids! We will definitely be back!
