Having not looked at the on line menu in advance, we expected a straight Mexican bill o'fare. To our surprise, in addition to Mexican favorites, the offerings included items such as prime rib, French Dip, burgers and muffuletta.
We wondered whether it would be possible to excel in so wide variety of selections remembering that bonafide east coast diners to seem to manage it and on an even grander scale.
We ordered a Chimichanga and a muffuletta and both were very generous in size. The Chimi was pretty authentic but the muffuletta, while very tasty, was not consistent with the Louisiana original i that the meats were different and the olive salad, which was more of a Medical than Italian flavor (as is the original), was served on the side as opposed to on the sandwich leaving the sandwich drier than it could have been. In addition, although generous in size, as mentioned, the filling did not teach the ends of the bread leaving two of the four quarters fairly bare.
The armadillo egg app was good as were the house margaritas and the ice cold beers.
The service (Chelsea) was excellent and the graciousness of the hosts (owners?) was evident and very refreshing.
Parking is ample and we'd recommend a reservation on weekend evenings.
If you are attending a performance at the Mount Wachusett Community College Theater, a 15% discount on your check may be available with your ticket stubs. Unfortunately, we were unaware of this when we visited.
We will return and will try other offerings.
