“Simple as this....we're coming back :)”

After reading some negative and cautionary reviews I decided to be proactive. I travelled with my wife, teenage son and elderly in-laws. I called a couple weeks in advance and asked for quiet mountain view on top floor. I was NOT promised this accommodation but we checked in around 4:00p to receive those exact accommodations. During the 6 nights we were there we wondered if anyone else was at the resort. We heard very little noise just an occasional dripping around the kitchen area. Here we're the negatives, no ice maker so gotta go old school with ice trays. I had to show my teenager how to do it. When on deck the a/c was loud, shower for 6'2" 300 lb man was small but doable, inadequate counter space so we used table for prep and just made do. We kept our food on floor with plastic storage bins we brought....and that was about it. The staff and checkin could not have been better, the cucumber water was refreshing, lobby was nice and comfortable, view of Jiminy Peak was great, took some great pictures of rain storm and following fog off the mountain, concierge was extremely helpful, must take Segway tour and do the adventure rides next door. Restaurants took travel, but nothing too far. Grocery story ws 20-25 minutes away but beautiful drive, pizza place nearby that we did not buy from. We took day trips to Vermont Country Store in Medlin, Vt (an hour+ away), day trip to Bish Bash Falls about hour and half away but worth every mile. Went to Cheshire to a glass maker, Jill who made custom jewelry for us. She is a sweetheart and great designer. Cheshire Glass Works. Family played golf one day nearby, $59 green fees but very nice course, pool at resort was small and kids ruled but adult section nice. Easy aw
K over to some shops and activites at Jiminy peak. As my heading states, we are coming back in winter for skiing since they have ski in ski out.

Internet access was a struggle at times but most of the time was good. I did have backup broadband card just in case.

“Nice getaway in the Berkshires”
Reviewed July 15, 2012 for a stay in July 2012

This review might be totally different if I were writing it in the winter. Even though it was summer, you can see the ski slopes and they utilize the chair lifts as part of Jiminy Peak. But this review is about the Wyndham.

The lobby was very nice and the staff well trained. We arrived around 7pm and had not trouble checking in. Even though there were only 3 of us, we ended up with a 2 bedroom suite. The front desk advised me that most of their rooms were 2 bedrooms and they had very few 1 bedroom or efficiencies.

The room is very nice and it is certainly a place you could spend a week. Large kitchen and living room. Table that seats 6 comfortably. All the appliances and utensils and they were either new or very well kept which was unusual for a time share type residence.

There are 2 bathrooms in the unit, one in the master bedroom and the other off the living room. The master has a shower in the toilet area and a garden tub. The tub was very nice but putting the shower in the toilet area was a little strange. The second bathroom only has a shower. If you are staying in the second bedroom you have to exit your room to use the bathroom as it is shared with the living room and kitchen.

Over all the room was very nice. Nothing spectacular. Here are a few concerns.

The walls are paper thin. We heard people above us, in the hall and next to us. I heard water running in the walls. Do not expect quiet here.

It smelled like pee in the elevator.

The doors to the outside did not lock. Anyone could easily walk in.

The master bedroom only has one light switch besides the toilet area. The one light controls the ceiling light and the bathroom light so if you want to brush your teeth while your spouse is sleeping, you need a flashlight or a sound sleeper.

There is nothing really to do here. There are several restaurants on the property. Both are okay but that is what you get in the berkshires, okay. Jiminy Peak is right next door and it is an okay amusement park with an alpine slide and a zip line, but it is nothing spectacular. Of course, both my kids (13 & 15) said they loved the park area but you really can only do it one day.

Like I said at the beginning, if I came in January, this review might be different but for summer time, there are many, many better places to go.

“Fall Colors”
Reviewed October 4, 2011 for a stay in October 2011

Great location and they really work to keep the place well kept and painted. The beds are very comfortable. Unfortunately the walls are paper thin and the bedrooms butt up against each other. We could hear the conversations of the couple next door without listening-even ear-plugs didn't help. The kitchen has no cabinet to store spices or groceries. Water pressure in showers was very weak. There was free WIFI in the condo.

The sign leading to the mail entrance is misleading.
The itinerary from RCI said that the check out time was 10:30 and it is really 10:00AM
