“Cute, Quick, Great Location, Awesome Lobster Roll”

The Raw Bar on Ocean Street
Ranked #31 of 216 Restaurants in Hyannis
Certificate of Excellence
Price range: US$30 - US$200
Cuisines: Seafood
Description: Barbados Bob was on a diplomatic journey to the United States from his home in the Caribbean. His small ship sailed along idyllically on a beautiful moonlit night. Suddenly the sky darkened and the ship was unexpectedly caught in a squall. Barbados Bob was swept off the top deck by a mighty wave into the sea. All through the night, his faithful crew searched for him to no avail. Little did they know the Barbados Bob had been rescued by a Mermaid and brought to the shores of Cape Cod. As she dropped him off safely on the shore she whispered in his ear, "You shall open a Raw Bar and sell the freshest seafood in the land." Come and see why the Raw Bar has been voted the home of the number one lobster roll in New England by Billy Costa of the TV Diner, Channel 5's Chronicle, The Phantom Gourmet, V.B, and Maria of Fox News.

I was selling my artwork in the Hyannis Shanties down the street, so decided to try out the Raw Bar (in part to tell tourists if it was any good). It is! Much smaller, cuter, and lower-key than I expected, and surprisingly uncrowded between ferries. Ordered (of course) the lobster roll; got a "small" and was amazed at the sheer quantity of delicious lobster meat! Of course it's pricey -- but I don't think you'd get more or better lobster anywhere!

Best lobstah roll on the Cape! LOADED with claw meat. It will run you about thirty bucks but worth it....it's extra large. Sit on the upstairs deck overlooking Hyannis harbor. Great view. Kind of small.....so at times you might have to wait...but it's worth it. Nothing beats a lobstah roll and a side of rings washed down with an ice cold PBR.

Visited the place with family based on Lonely planet and Trip advisor recommendation. Lobster roll was generous and good but was overall disappointed by the visit: the tuna sashimi salad served in a plastic box with a vinaigrette in a plastic packet, the extra charge for the French fries to go with the $31 Lobster roll, the $12 glass of French wine that was not good and the view (car park between the restaurant and the harbour).

This restaurant oozes vacation. It's intimate, but you definitely feel like you are at the beach. The drink selection is wonderful with craft beers on tap, creative frozen drinks and cocktails. Their specialty is the lobster roll which comes with 6 or 12oz of lobster. Get the 12oz- totally worth the extra $7! You can get it with drawn butter or mayo. I love that option.

This is a casual, waterside eatery so no fancy attire required. You would feel overdressed outside of shorts, flip flops or a summer dress.
