This was our first visit to Hyannis and we couldn't have chosen a better location for our getaway for Columbus Day weekend celebrating our 25th anniversary.
Short walk to the beach for beautiful view of coastline. An easy 15-20 minute walk to Main St for a day of shopping and sightseeing. We thoroughly enjoyed the Kennedy Museum. What a great reminder of a different political time. Quick 1/2 hour drive to Wellfleet (almost no traffic this time of year!) to check out the Audubon Society Wildlife Sanctuary - gorgeous place to hike/walk.
The cottage/condo was impeccably clean and the King sized bed was one of the most comfortable I've ever slept in. The couch is a pullout sleeper sofa so isn't the most comfortable but really, who has time to sit around on the couch? Loved sitting on the porch and listening to the waves. The kitchen is small but well stocked with basics. Bonus: plenty of closet space to tuck away your suitcases so you feel like you are home :)
Communication was quick and easy.
Highly recommend for couples or families.
Having just returned from a ten day break in Hyannis, I feel some words about cottage 6A would be appropriate.
Right from the word go, Tom ( the owner) was very helpful in dealing with my booking and on arrival, after a flight from Manchester(UK) to Boston and a pleasant hour and a half drive, the impression given about the interior and facilities from previous reports was much endorsed.
The master bedroom has a large very comfortable bed, whilst the second bedroom has twin beds.
The bedrooms bracket a small kitchen, bathroom and lounge area.
The cottage was spotless, with tastefully decorated walls, and lots of sea/ beach wall-mounted motifs.
The cottage sits at the end of Sea St, which is a cul de sac, so very peaceful and quiet, with a nice view of Nantucket Sound from the deck.
You are in easy driving distance of the many excellent restaurants in Hyannis, and being centrally situated on Cape Cod, visits to other areas on the Cape are very straightforward.
I would thoroughly recommend this vacation cottage - it really ticks all the boxes !
This is a lovely little cottage very close to the beach and with everything you need for a good holiday. It was just me and my husband, and 4 adults would be OK, more than 4 people I think would struggle as it is quite a cosy space. It is well-appointed, with nice furniture and linens. We didn't have a car, which meant that most of the time we were close to home. The local restaurants are about a 25 minute walk away and there is a local shop within a 10 minute walk. We used the local taxi service for the occasional trip out, but in general we walked everywhere, however, if you do not have a car the supermarket is too far to walk. The beach is on the doorstep - lovely, although I am not sure I would swim in the water which has lots of seaweed. Hyannis Port is a pleasant stroll along the beach and then a walkway. Hyannis Harbour is a 25 minute walk away. This was a lovely place to chill out for a week, after a week in Boston and a very busy week in NYC to follow. Whatever you do DO NOT MISS the whale watching experience - absolutely amazing.
We stayed here for a week in August with our 2 children, Will, 13 and Olivia, 10. We had just had 5 nights in nyc and after a very busy few days there this was a superb place to have a more chilled week. We had an amazingly wonderful time. The property was perfect for us and so comfortable. It took about 15 minutes to walk into the town with loads of restaurant choices. The pool was great for the kids and it was so close to the beach which we visited most evenings. The location was fantastic and we would love to be able to go back one day. We wish we were still there.
We had a great holiday here. The condo was spotless on arrival. It was literally steps from the beach and had a lovely sea view. The pool was secure, clean and fairly quiet most days..
We were a party of 3 and it was perfectly adequate for us although I think anymore than 4 would be a bit of a squeeze.
Only things missing were a washing machine (I presumed there would be one within the complex...but I got some liquid and washed by hand)
More tea towels!! We only had 1 so bought another.
A pizza tray!
Other than that it was great. Would love to return one day.
We came over from the UK to visit Boston and Cape Cod. After nearly a week of traveling around and staying in hotels, Steps to the beach was a most welcome retreat. A compact home from home, with everything you need. A perfect location to explore the rest of Cape Cod and a gorgeous setting, so close to the beach, allowing early morning or evening walks and exploring. Our children, aged 6 and 8, loved it. The master bedroom bed is big and comfortable. The twin bedroom has plenty of space. There was a tv in each room. The kitchen is compact but everything you need. We needed a washing machine at this point and although their isn't one in the cottage, we used the local laundrette which was quick, easy and reasonable - and I didn't have to do it! Swimming pool was also perfect for what we wanted. Some top tips: harbour seals at Chatham are fantastic, our favourite beaches were on the north coast of the Cape - Chapin, Mayflower and/or Corporation beach, dolphin and whale watching tour out of Barnstable was amazing and very rewarding and ..... we had a great time. Thank you.
