We were blown away by both the fabulous renovations and the A+ hospitality at The Lake House.

These owners really know how to create a warm, welcoming, very special bed and breakfast.
The location is terrific. You're close to Tanglewood, Jacobs Pillow, Lenox, Stockbridge and all the highlights of the Berkshires. Of course the lake in the backyard makes you never want to leave once you arrive!!

We loved our first visit to The Lake House and know that we will visit again and again and again. . .

Oh and the breakfast is delicious and wine and cheese & crackers in the afternoon is a great touch!

Room Tip: I loved having a view of the lake, but if you want to be more budget conscious there are other choices that will serve you just fine. All the rooms are just beautiful and well appointed.

A boutique B & B in the Berkshires. Beautifully appointed, tastefully done, fluffy white beds & great breakfast & coffee. I wish I could keep this place all to myself but I think it's already too late ! The new owners are so welcoming and have done everything right. We will be back - looking forward to it !

We were looking for a place to stay in the Berkshires close to Tanglewood, and on a lake where we could swim. There aren't many such. We were fortunate to find the LakeHouse Inn on Laurel Lake. This is a hundred-year-old wood frame hotel very recently completely and beautifully renovated. (It opened only two months ago.) It has touches of old here and there, but mostly the Inn is decorated with modern furniture. The floors are beautiful old pine. Our room was large and had a view of the lake. The bathroom was large and very modern, with a beautiful tile floor and a very large glass-enclosed shower. The house is surrounded by a lawn overlooking the lake. One can swim from the inn's dock, and there are kayaks one can borrow.
It is located on a somewhat busy road, but when you are on the property, you can barely hear and don't notice the road at all. The breakfasts were delicious. The young couple who own the Inn were very good hosts. The drive to Tanglewood takes only 10 or 15 minutes, and there are many other things to do in the vicinity. We visited Edith Wharton's house, The Mount, and also Naumking, designed by Stanford White. My only criticism is that they should provide a desk, either in each room or in the public space, so a person could work at a computer if they need to.

You are right, it is the perfect place for both swimming and music!! We are so glad that you appreciated that. So close to tanglewood and all other Berkshire attractions, but feel so far away being nestled in on Laurel Lake. We have added a desk to the room you had stayed in, thank you for the feedback. We look forward to your return visit!

This entire inn from the 1880's has been beautifully remodeled in a way that old and new blend perfectly. The room was lovely with a balcony overlooking the lake. Kayaks and paddle boards provided relaxation, and the lake is great for swimming. Wine and cheese at sunset in adirondack chairs overlooking the lake - what could be better? The owners made themselves available for good restaurant tips and advice on other activities, and breakfast was the best we've had at any B & B. We had a terrific time.

Room Tip: Choose the waterfront views - well worth it.

Thank you so much!! We love the sunsets over looking the lake with wine and cheese the best too! We are also glad that you appreciated the way we blended the charming character of the old inn with all the new renovations we have done without loosing all of the charm. We hope you visit us again soon!

The inn is beautifully restored but with all the charm intact. The young couple who run it are very attentive yet unobtrusive. The breakfast is fantastic (I recommend the crepes when available), the grounds are pristine, the lake is sparklingly clean, and the kayaks are a great bonus. It didn't hurt that we had perfect weather for our weekend. Highly recommended!
