A very last minute trip to Massachusetts mid-July, require a quick search for a nice spot to sleep. We were grateful to end up at the Rookwood Inn. A charming, exceptionally clean Inn that is walking distance to downtown Lenox, Ma. It was our first time to the area and we had no idea what to expect. The Inn is decorated with treasures from years gone by with all the modern conveniences. We were welcomed by a lovely chatty young woman who provide us with information about the area and a list of great restaurants for dinner. Many guests seemed like repeat customers and after our delicious breakfast and a hello with the inn keeper we could see why. We will be back.

Dear Naomi,

We are thrilled you found availability at The Rookwood this past summer! What nice serendipity that we had availability.

We really appreciate that you appreciated the cleanliness that the staff work so hard to achieve (difficult in older homes in the country ). I am also very pleased that my employee, Kali, was both helpful and informative about things to do and places to dine in Lenox. The is so much to see, do and enjoy here in Lenox and the Berkshires every season.

We look forward to welcoming you back!

We arrived at the Inn and discovered the room we had selected had no TV. Normally we'd be thrilled but the Red Sox were playing the Orioles in a tight race and we wanted to watch. No problem...they gave us a complimentary upgrade! That was the start of a wonderful 3 day stay. The inn is lovely, very comfortable and immaculate. And oh the scrumptious breakfasts! And if all that wasn't enough it's a very short walk to "downtown" Lenox with it's neat shops and some terrific restaurants. We look forward to our return.

Room Tip: We loved room 20 and 21

Our weekend stay at the Rookwood Inn, could not of been better from the moment the door is opened to welcome you. Amy is truly the most helpful Innkeeper, with an adorable backup assistant named Kali ............what a team. Amy understands the needs of the traveler. A refrigerator to keep your wine chilled and your picnic fresh. We had wine and cheese nightly with lovely porches and gardens to enjoy it all in
Lovely Victorian rooms with wonderful bedding for a great nights sleep , The Rookwood is perfectly situated in Lenox, Located only one mile from Tanglewood.
Breakfast buffets welcome you every morning in the sunniest breakfast nook.
SIMPLY the best....
PS. Amy, what brand of coffee do you serve, that was unforgettable.
Thank you,
Jill and Michael (Rhode Island)

Our four day stay at the Rookwood this August was very pleasant and comfortable. The atmosphere is warm, and the staff is responsive. The location can't be beat, a block from the downtown Lenox area. We walked to the Shakespeare Theater and Tanglewood. We really appreciated that the staff mailed some article of clothing we had left behind. We would come back.

We stayed in the smallest room they have on the first floor. A great room and very quiet. However, the bathroom left a lot of room for improvement. It was very dark. I asked for a brighter light bulb, which was provided immediately. However it was still too dark for putting on makeup and it was very claustrophobic. The ceiling needed repairs and the shower was very small. If bathrooms are important to you, I'd recommend the inn but not this room.
The amenities at the inn were wonderful. Always beverages and snacks available. Breakfast were good, although the focus was on sweet baked goods. There were several comfortable areas to relax: a screened in porch, a comfy parlor and a nice from front porch. The staff were friendly and accommodating.

Room Tip: Be sure you love Victorian
