The Village Inn Bed and Breakfast
Ranked #18 of 20 Lenox B&B and Inns
Reviewed 4 August 2011

Not wanting to drive back to RI after an all day trip to Tanglewood we decided to stay overnite in nearby Lenox, MA and managed to squeak out a reservation at The Viliiage Inn B&B. All lodgings are sold out in Feb. when the annual Tanglewood schedule is published. Late arrivers beware!!!! Very few rooms available in August. Village Inn is typical of the local B&B's. Immaculate housekeeping and a hearty home cooked breakfast made for an enjoyable stay. Would recommend it again in a heartbeat!!

Room Tip: Reserve early in the season!!! Tanglewood fills all the local spots up fast.

The breakfasts were buffet style both of the mornings that we stayed here, and they were very good. Our rooms were comfortable. Both couples stayed in the TIER 1F rooms with fireplaces, and for a building as old as this one we were surprised by the size of the rooms. They were large by “Bed and Breakfast” standards.
There were always fresh cookies and coffee in the lobby, which was a nice touch.
We have stayed in Lenox and surrounding areas many times, and this inn has comparable pricing to other lodgings in the area.
We walked to Tanglewood from the inn, and though the road was under construction (which made it a muddy and messy walk) it was certainly walkable for an able bodied person who regularly enjoys hiking. It was approximately a 20 minute walk to the venue, but it took a little bit longer to get back to the inn (due to the fact that you are walking mostly all uphill).

I stayed one night at the Village Inn and did not want to leave, but had responsibilities to get back to. This historic 1771 inn has charm and warmth. My room was very clean and comfortable with everything I needed already in it, such as a clock radio, air conditioner, hair dryer and even a whirlpool bathtub. Billie and Pat, the Inn's welcoming host and hostess made my friend and I feel very welcomed. The full buffet breakfast which was included in the room rate offered a large variety of hot and cold breakfast foods and everything was delicious. The staff both in the dinning room and reception area were gracious, friendly and helpful,

I highly recommend the Village Inn to anyone visiting the Berkshires - Judy Z, New York City

A great location when going to a Tanglewood show. Friendly and helpful service. The delicious breakfast is a reason to back on it's own. Its a charming and welcoming inn without pretention.

I was a little skeptical about kareoke at Rumpy's when it was mentioned at check-in, but I am so glad we stopped in for a nightcap. What a fun and welcoming crowd! Other guests mentioned they slept so soundly they had no idea there was a rocking party going on until after 1am.

We will definitely stay here again when in the area. A great value.

In Lenox to attend a ballroom event at Ventfort Hall. Staying at the Village Inn made the weekend even more special. The staff was exceptionally attentive and friendly. Our room was clean with a romantic canopy bed and fireplace. Located right in Lenox Village, we were able to walk to the many shops and galleries. Dinner on the porch at Rumpelstilzkins was exquisite. We plan to return our "home" in the Berkshires.

My wife and I became wayward travelers on Valentine's Day weekend when our original plans didn't work out. Fortunately for us, we happend to walk into the Village Inn Bed & Breakfast in search of accomodations for two nights on a moments notice. Within five minutes we knew that we had found a great place to stay.

The room was comfortable and cozy. Everything was clean and well kept and we felt right at home. The service was excellent. The Village Inn B&B also has a restaurant where we ate breakfast and dinner, which was included in our package. The food was awesome: perfectly prepared and delicious. I still have a craving for the gingerbread pancakes. Dinner was exceptional. The Village Inn B&B turned an otherwise dismal weekend into a wonderful get away for the two of us.

This is a 19th century hotel in the heart of historic Lenox. We were able to easily walk everywhere we wanted to go in Old Town. The restaurant features wonderful and creative fine dining. This is our second visit in January, and we will always return here when we visit Lenox. This time we stayed in their 3rd floor two bedroom suite along with another couple...friends. We all agreed our visit was very comfortable, interesting, and pleasant. There is a fun bar in the basement. Service was very professional, personal, and helpful. My wife says it was romantic, too.
