We have been traveling to the Berkshires for several years to attend Shakespeare & Company plays. We have stayed at Inns and Hotels. This was our first time, in this area, in a home setting.
First, don't let the address in Pittsfield put you off. You are in a relatively rural setting just across the town line from Lenox and no further than the hotel we used last year to downtown Lenox. The unit is entered through a shared mud room with the main house. You enter into a living room with a pull out couch. To the left is a dressing room. Off that is the master bedroom with a queen size bed. Also off the dressing room is the large bathroom with a spacious shower and Jacuzzi tub.
The house is clean and well maintained. The furniture is quite comfortable. The living room has some traffic noise in the early evening with the windows open. With the windows closed, the noise is almost eliminated. Pocket doors separate the living room from the dressing room and the dressing room to the bath. The dressing room to the bedroom is closed with curtains.
In the living room is a large desk with a microwave, toaster oven and K cup type coffee maker. There is a dorm size refrigerator which was just right for our three night stay.
The bedroom has sliding doors opening to a deck and garden. The garden, even in mid summer, was lush and full of flowers. The flowers attracted a flock of hummingbird moths which we mistook for hummingbirds. In the mornings we would sit and relax in these east facing gardens. The front deck has its own gardens facing across a pasture beyond the road.
Sandra was a gracious hostess. After orienting us to the home, she gave us our privacy until we were loading the car to return home.
