“Outstanding and Classy Inn/Hotel”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 24 March 2012

My wife and I are visiting friends in Marblehead for a couple weeks, and we need to stay somewhere for a couple days, so we chose this place.

So glad we did! This is not your typical B&B Inn, but more of a Hotel with a full real breakfast, and classy amenities all around. Plus that Tavern is so very nice and warm.

We have stayed at a ton of Inns and Hotels all over the country and would say that this place is the best one we've ever been in.

Room Tip: Love the fire placed rooms.

Situated amidst the numerous buildings and homes in Marblehead's historic district is a hidden jewel, the Harbor Light Inn. From the moment I spoke with the manager, Susan, on the phone, I knew I was going to enjoy the overnight stay. My husband and I were in desperate need for a weekend retreat. The moment we opened the front door we felt at peace, leaving the stress of the past few months behind. Susan gave us a warm greeting and orientation and directed us to the honeymoon suite. The spacious bedroom was beautifully decorated and had a bathroom with a large jacuzzi for two with an adjacent shower stall. There were double sinks, Gilchrist and Soames soaps, shampoo etc. and cozy robes for each of us. We borrowed a movie from the DVD library and lit the fire in our room enjoying a movie after dinner at a local restaurant. We spent time socializing in the lounge and living room making new friends with other guests. Breakfast the next morning was Creme Brulee French Toast and salmon along with other selections ... a wonderful way to start our day. We were invited to leave our car parked in their lot so we could explore more of the area on foot before returning home later in the day. My husband said he'd go back any time, but insisted it be for two nights the next time so we could really settle in! Be sure to ask if you need anything. We could not figure out how to get the DVD player to work, so at 10 pm we called and within minutes we had someone in our room cheerfully helping us out. It is clear that the goal of the staff is to make every guest be as comfortable as possible. You will leave feeling pampered. Thanks Susan!

Room Tip: We stayed in the honeymoon suite. It is one of the most spacious rooms and a perfect romantic setti...

My 5 sisters and I met in Marblehead a few weekends ago. Based on the review's I'd read we chose the Harbor Light Inn. The staff at the inn was super friendly both on the phone and in person. The rooms were beautiful and the entire place was very clean and neat. We had a nice breakfast in the morning too! Parking can be a bear in this little town but the Inn provides ample space around back. I kept thinking how fun it would be to return in the summer. I highly recommend The Harbor Light Inn to anyone visiting the north shore.

This wonderful place to stay is on Washington Street, making for a perfect location. We found our room to be very charming and clean. We also had a working fireplace. The room is large enough, very comfortable bed, plenty of pillows with a closet, and a nice large private bathroom, recently renovated. There's a tavern inside as well. Breakfast with all kinds of choices. And walking distance to shops and restaurants of all kinds. We especially liked that they have new flat screen TV's on the wall, and wireless internet. The service was superb. Darryl and Anna are great! Shawn is a great bartender. Great memories.

Room Tip: Room 37 has a working fireplace.

This quaint old inn has anything but a quaint old personality. The Harbor Light Inn welcomes guests with scrumptious homemade treats at the door. It has a good vibe all the way around, and we were upgraded to a lovely room with a fireplace and jacuzzi. It is restful, charming, and has a wonderful breakfast in a garden room setting. Susan is a most hospitable hostess, with much attention to detail. Off or on season, it's a great place to land.

We stayed at the Harbor Light Inn for a weekend early March, and we were certainly not disappointed. The staff is beyond accommodating, polite and welcoming - especially Suzanne the general manager. They helped us with restaurant recommendations, and even reserved our tables.

The breakfast itself was delicious, as were the bar snacks we had one evening when we stayed in at the cosy bar. As for the room, we were lucky enough to stay in room 26 which was very spacious, beautiful fireplace, and the comfiest bed. For those of you who just can't switch off, the inn had very good wifi and television, and phones of course.

All in all, what a treat to stay there and would definitely return!

Room Tip: A room with a fireplace is definitely a must!

If you are looking to stay in Marblehead at a Bed & Breakfast, Harbor Light Inn is the place to stay. Great Service, Ambience, and Location; Personally I would like to thank Darryl who was very accommodating to my wife & I throughout our stay, although it was only one night you wish you could live there. Make sure you stop for a drink at the Tavern, great atmosphere and Darryl again was very accommodating, letting us chose the music. If you are looking for some local flavor, take the short walk down to Maddie's Sail Loft, great drinks (dark & stormy, generous pours) and it is the #3 sailor bar in the country.
Thanks again Harbor Light Inn & Darryl for the wonderful time,
Teal & Kelly Flanagin
