My wife and I have visited Marblehead each year for the past 7 years - always in late June or early July. We stayed at several B and Bs along the way and enjoyed each stay.
We planed to repeat at a place where we had stayed before but found that it was booked for the weekend that we selected. The proprietor there recommended the Pheasant Hill Inn, just nearby and so we thought we would give it a try. It turns out that her recommendation was a delightful discovery. Bill and Nancy (the owners) were warm, friendly, and helpful - in between maintaining the property and the surrounding gorgeous grounds - the breakfasts were excellent and varied, and the location very convenient. We stayed in one of the three rooms available - the Garden Room - so named because it features an outdoor deck space overlooking the garden. The room was spotless, had a small living room and a large bedroom with a beautiful bath and shower. We settled right in and felt pampered throughout the weekend.
The home is beautiful and you would never know that the structure was many decades old. Bill and Nancy have refreshed, refurbished, and remodeled the home over the years so that it has the feel of a new building. Gorgeous. With ample off-street parking and located in a quiet neighborhood with easy access to stores and to the historic district, Pheasant Hill should be on your short list of options in Marblehead.
